Their economic and social impact has not yet been analysed in depth. This paper aims to present the evolution of the means of payment during the last decades and to analyse the issue of cash abolition in European economies. The creation of a cashless economy would bring benefits, such as efficiency increase, as well as problems: the disturbance of money supply, instability of the foreign exchange rate, and so on. The paper discusses the reasons and arguments expressed by supporters and opponents of cash abolition and focuses on possible consequences, from the economic point of view. The advantages, disadvantages, benefits and costs associated with the possibility of removing cash from the economy are also described. Finally, a possible scenario for the future is analysed.

The present article deals with analysis and assessment of various definitions and approaches to world-wide economic interdependence. The concept of which has stimulated a lively scholarly controversy and different interpretations. Generally speaking, there are two tendencies to use that concept in order to present some essential features of the contemporary world economic system as well as in order to express some goals of foreign policy of a given state or group of states. This article presents also main methods of evaluation of this phenomena. The article ends with short summary and conclusions

Natural features refer to the consumption of animal versus plant products, while technical features pertain to agricultural and industrial products consumption. The analysis leads to a conclusion that the dietary patterns obtain internationalized, industrial origin and growing share of animal products, while the weight of tradition (i.e. Mediterranean plant products and services) weakens in Greece after World War II. Additionally, during this period the urban and rural dietary patterns, by comparison, have evolved at different paces and characteristics; the rural dietary patterns converged to urban ones with 'asymmetric' way, time lag and significant particularities.

The deep economic crisis that hit Greece is reflected, inter alia, in the main macroeconomic ratios, like Gross Domestic Product and unemployment and some indicators of the banking sector, like deposits, total loans and non-performing loans. Greece is characterizes today by borrowing problems, high public debt, serious lack of competitiveness, unsustainable social security system, particularly poor public administration and a large and wasteful public sector. Economic crisis decreased firms' profitability and increased their needs for external sources of financing. In the situation when internal sources are limited external capital is the main source allowing to finance firm's investment projects. Insufficient availability of external capital can restrict fu...
