The reason for this research was the high participation and increased interest shown in an ER event, where distributed questionnaires recorded students' views on ER, STEM, and CT. Their answers were the spark to conduct a pilot study on primary school students in the form of an experiential seminar to investigate the possibility of developing their CT skills by applying ER activities when they are asked to solve authentic STEM problems. The results showed that students may develop CT skills when involved in ER activities and that educational robots enhance students' engagement with programming and create a more favorable environment for developing students' CT skills.

Direct, indirect and sampling methods are mainly employed to measure CO2 flux and concentration in seismic areas. The accumulation chamber technique is the mostly used in the literature. Radon gas emission in seismic areas can be considered as a short-term pre-seismic precursor. The study and the measurement of radon gas activity prior to earthquakes can be performed through active techniques, with the use of high-precision active monitors and through passive techniques with the use of passive detectors. Several investigators report models to explain the anomalous behavior of in-earth fluid gasses prior to earthquakes. Models are described and discussed.

The railway industry produces a huge ume of data, with the proper processing of them and the use of innovative technology, there is the possibility of beneficial information to be provided which constitute the deciding factor for the correct decision making. Safety is the railway comparative advantage that has to be reinforced by each business administration while making the optimum decisions. The main purpose of this paper is the investigation of the most important dysfunctions that arise in a train and can cause its immobilization at the main passenger rail, resulting in huge delays of conducting the routes setting the passengers at risk. Afterwards the total of malfunctions is assessed and the most important, potentially, malfunction is assessed, so as the executives of the Greek Railway company to plan and redefine the processes and the initial plan of the predictive maintenance. This paper demonstrates the effort of implementing innovative applications by making use of methods from the rapidly developed field of Data Mining to the Greek Railway Company that uses obsolete procedures for the control of the trains' functionality in order to investigate the data for the provision of specialized information which will be used as a tool for the faster, more accurate and precise decision making. This decision making approach is based on a specific algorithm's design in order to automatically detect faults and make periodic maintenance of trains easier. Holistic approach is performed in the management of real data from the Greek railway industry and a predictive model of Machine Learning is developed, for the optimization of the management's performance of the trains reinforcing the strategic target of the railway industry which is the transportation of citizens with safety and comfort.

However, this area is less explored than other areas such as computer graphics and audio. Most advanced olfactory displays are designed for a specific experiment, they are hard to modify and extend, expensive, and/or can deliver a very limited number of scents. Additionally, current-generation olfactory displays make no decisions on if and when a scent should be released. This paper proposes a low-cost, easy to build, powerful smart olfactory display, that can release up to 24 different aromas and allow control of the quantity of the released aroma. The display is capable of absorbing back the aroma, in an attempt to clean the air prior to releasing a new aroma. Additionally, the display includes a smart algorithm that will decide when to release certain aromas. The device controller application includes releasing scents based on a timer, text in English subtitles, or input from ex...

Natural and technological disasters are unavoidable and therefore ensuring the recovery of the registry is a very important factor for the operation of the administrative unit. Based on current technological trends, the most appropriate solution is to implement a cloud computing information system, which requires the complete digitization of the file, which consists of paper and electronic forms. The administrative unit, which is under study in the present project, consists of a University secretariat. The ultimate goal of the project is to design an information system that responds to the needs and requirements of the unit, at the lowest possible cost and simultaneously to enable a mechanism for data retrieving at any time, even after a possible disaster. The design of the proposed solution will take into account the use of economical and ecological methods, as well as the relevant IT systems already on the market and specifically those have already implemented in administrative units.

The three-dimensional printing process starts by feeding the 3D printer with print material, making sure that the material is chosen to suit the needs of the print object. It then prepares, adjusts and clears the print surface, and once the digital 3D drawing is transferred to the printer, the machine automatically creates the desired 3D object. Three-dimensional printing and the surrounding environment make it easier for learners to learn more complex concepts and provide them with new "tools". Finally, the proposed Education Program for Educators was based on the philosophy of adult education programs.

In any study of textile fabrics the meaning of the word textile must be made clear. The dictionary states that the word is derived from the Latin word 'texere' to weave, but a wider meaning than simply that of weaving must be accepted since that is only one of various ways of making textile fabrics. One may classify it as a more glamorous industry, but whatever it is, it provides with the basic requirement called clothes. The researcher has given in this chapter all possible terms and concepts involved in textile production process. Most of these terms are technical. This chapter is an attempt to understand clear cut ideas about research topic. It gives an insight about terms that are used all around the world in context of textile industry. There are numerous kinds of fibres and other raw materials, which are used to produce a cloth. But most of them are unheard of. This chapter is designed in such a way that it is easy to understand the basics of textiles.

We want to check the position of the piston with a PID controller or its combinations (Plain P or PI). In the first chapter there is a historical retrograde to the automatic systems from antiquity and slowly, we come in later times, going through the industrial revolution and reaching today with the evolution of automation in general being soaring. Moving to the second chapter refers to hydraulic systems, hydraulic engineering and hydromechanics with definitions and reports of early tests of hydraulics in Greece-Persia and Rome. We continue to refer to hydraulic systems with advantages and disadvantages but also with examples of their application, such as excavators, loaders, elevators, etc. At the end of this chapter, the system of work is given along with some typical hydraulic components. In the third and final chapter of the work, tests are carried out to find the best controller (P-PI-PID) based on system characteristics and comparison of results for each control method, in order to better control the piston.
