Method: OIDP questionnaire was translated from English to Croatian language by four postgraduate dental students. Backward translation was also performed. Preliminary study was performed on 61 subjects. Questionnaire intelligibility was tested on 32 subjects. Face and content validity were additionally discussed by two postgraduate dental students and three dental school professors. Intelligibility, construct validity and internal reliability of the questionnaire were tested on 400 subjects from Zagreb and surrounding area. Additionally, 200 validity questionnaires were used. Test-retest validity was determined by means of repeated direct interview with 32 subjects with one week to one month pause between interviews. MS Excel and SPSS for windows version 16 were used for data processing Result: From the total number of subjects there were 394 (98,5%) questionnaires. Intelligibility of the questionnaire was very good/excellent in the majority of cases, with female subjects showing better understanding of questions. Standardized Chronbach's alpha as the internal reliability measure was 0,817 with positive inter-item correlations. Number of filled validity questionnaires was 197 (98,5%). There was a positive correlation between OIDP questionnaire and validity questionnaire results (Pearson's correlation, p<0,05). Test-retest validity showed no difference between the first and repeated measurement for both, the total result of the questionnaire as well as for the results of each individual item (Wilcoxon signed rank test, p>0,05). Conclusion: Results demonstrated appropriate psychometric properties of the OIDP questionnaire. Content and criterion validity, reliability, test-retest consistency and intelligibility parameters were within defined standard values. It can be concluded that Croatian version of OIDP questionnaire can be used as a tool in further oral health quality of life related research.

F... more Dental fusion is a rare developmental anomaly which is included in the anomalies of tooth size. Fusion can occur at the level of enamel or enamel and dentin which results in the formation of a single tooth with enlarged clinical crown. Etiology of fusion is not fully clarified. According to the available literature, the incidence of fusion ranges from 0.2 to 2.5% and is more common in decidious dentition. In the case report presented, fused incisors were treated endodontically and reconstructed by composite materials.

Thirty-five singlerooted teeth were divided into five groups, instrumented, and had apices resected. Root-end cavities in groups I and II were filled with SuperEBA and IRM. The samples from the groups III, IV, and V were filled with gutta-percha and sealer. In groups IV and V, root-end cavities were filled with SuperEBA and IRM. After 60 days, the greatest microleakage of BSA was observed in group II (4.1 Ϯ 0.0011 ng), followed by group III (3.4 Ϯ 0.0064 ng), and then group I (2.6 Ϯ 0.0019 ng). Samples from groups IV and V leaked the least (0.7 Ϯ 0.0014 ng). Significantly less leakage (p Ͻ 0.05) occurred in samples filled with orthograde and root-end fillings than did in samples filled only with an orthograde approach and the samples with IRM root-end fillings.

The investigation included the medium mode (M), exponential (E) and standard (S) illumination mode for 20, 40 and 80 seconds. The viability was determined using the trypan blue exclusion test. Colony forming ability was assessed by colony count on post-exposure day 7. Cell proliferation was determined by cell counts during five post-exposure days. The viability of cells was not affected by blue light in view of exposure time and modes. Colony forming ability in treated cells was slightly, but not significantly lower than in control cells. Cell proliferation was lower in cells exposed to the M mode for 80 s on post-exposure day 3 and 4 (p < 0.05). On the same post-exposure days, the proliferation of cells exposed to modes E and S, showed a significant inhibition after 20, 40 and 80...

Methods: There were 4 groups for each GIC: one group without the addition of HA particles and three experimental groups with the addition of 2, 5 and 10 wt% HA. A sectional Teflon molds (8 mm diameter × 2 mm deep) were used to prepare 10 samples per group (n = 80). The specimens were stored in distilled water at 37 °C for 7 days before testing. The SR was measured using a contact type profilometer and the MH was measured with a Vickers micro-hardness tester at a load of 980 g for 15 s. Statistical analysis was performed using one-way ANOVA with Tukey post-hoc test. Results and Conclusion: Fuji II modified with 10 wt% HA showed most favorable results with respect to MH. Comparison of materials with respect to SR showed that there is a difference between them (p < 0.0001; ANOVA test). Fuji II and Fuji IX modified with HA showed higher surface roughness values which should be considered.

While this condition is of interest to clinical practitioners worldwide, there is little information regarding its prevalence and etiology, especially in the Middle East. The purpose of this review was to describe the prevalence and possible etiological factors of molar incisor hypomineralization in children. About 252 articles were reviewed as well as some references of selected articles. Twenty-six recent studies described the prevalence and possible etiological factors of molar incisor hypomineralization in children. The prevalence of MIH appears to be increasing and was associated with health problems during early childhood, including asthma, adenoid infection, tonsillitis, fevers, and antibiotic intake. Although the etiology may be multifactorial, children born preterm and those with poor general health or systemic conditions in their early life may develop MIH.

Methodology Forty well conserved sculls escavated from the archeological findings in church cripts were examined radigraphically. The church is cathedral in Pozega, Slavonia region of Croatia. According church records individuals were burried from 1760 to 1868. A totally of 960 teeth were analysed, 116 were lost after death and 204 before death. Caries was assesd using dental explorer and radigraphically. To evaluate periapical health presence of apical parodontis, root resorption and condensing osteitis on panoramic radiographs were recorded. To evaluate apical parodontitis periapical index (PAI) was used. A score egual or greater than three was catagorized as a diseased periapx. Root resorption on the apearance of roots shorter than neibougher teeth. Condensing ostitis was clearly indefied as a radiopaque region in the periapical area. Results Caries was found in 112 teeth (12%). Periapical pathosis was found in 49 (5%) teeth, 44 had periapical parodontitis and five of them had root resorption. Condensing osteitis was found in periapical region of 5 teeth.

There were 3 experimental groups with 22 samples each, (I) EQUIA Forte HT without coat, (II) Fuji IX and (III) Ketac Universal Aplicap. Each group was randomly divided into three subgroups (n = 6–8) further exposed to different environments, (1) distilled water, (2) green tea (pH 3.78) and (3) Aceto balsamico vinegar (pH 3.0). Mass and L* a* b* values were recorded before and after pH cycling. The samples in subgroups 2 and 3 were exposed to the acidic media two times a day for 10 min, over a period of 14 days. The differences among materials and erosive effects of the three media were tested using three-way analyses of variance with post hoc LSD test at the significance level p < 0.05. The effect of pH cycling in Aceto balsamico and green tea was degrading for all three materials. pH cycling in Aceto balsamico caused s...
