Mental health of university students has recently become a topic of attention by mental health re... more Mental health of university students has recently become a topic of attention by mental health researchers, in addition to having a significant urgency in daily life, mental health is a determining factor in achieving effective living. This study aims to determine the level of obstacles experienced by students in the process of seeking professional psychological assistance. This study uses a quantitative method obtained through survey techniques with descriptive analysis explore using SPPS assistance, by providing a psychological scale that is distributed via google form, the respondents of this study are college students. The results of the study show that students have a high level of barriers in seeking psychological professional help. Discussions and suggestions are in the script.

Counseling services require school counselors to empower students who have different cultural backgrounds from theirs. The Multicultural School Counseling Behavior Scale (MSCBS) is a scale to measure the school counselors’ multicultural competence represented by their attitudes and behavior in implementing guidance and counseling services in schools. This study aims to adapt the MSCBS into Indonesian, considering the limited multicultural competency measuring tool for school counselors that includes the attitudes and behavior of school counselors in counseling. It becomes a concern among guidance and counseling practitioner in the educational context. Regarding previous studies, spiritual-religious attitudes and moral disengagement predict individuals’ academic dishonesty. To complete the gap of those studies, the current study investigated the role of moral disengagement to mediate the relationship between spiritual-religious attitudes and academic dishonesty in university students. There were 292 respondents from four universities in Semarang participated in this study. The authors used a cross-sectional study and utilized google form to collect the data. The authors conducted three analyses, regression-based path analysis, mediation analysis using bias-corrected and bootstrapping. To do so, counselors are required to have abilities to do evaluation. The aim of this study was to determine the validity level of evaluation competency instrument and compare the perception of school counselors in Indonesia on the evaluation competency they have. Survey research with cross-sectional technique was conducted by involving 700 respondents coming from secondary schools in Indonesia. Their data were collected using Effective Practices Survey (Dimmitt, et. Al. 2007) consisting of 19 items. The results showed there was no significant effect of counselors’ perception on the evaluation competency based on age ( (F (2) = 1.9 p> 0.05), employment status (F (1) = 0.28 p> 0.05), major of study (F (1) = 0.18, p> 0.05), and number of students they supervise (F (2) = 4.36 p> 0.05). To know this, there are several indicators to be examined whether the services have been in line with the procedures or not, such as listening skills, techniques used, goal setting, and others. Regarding these preliminary findings, this study aimed at describing students’ perceptions of individual counseling services provided by counselors in Semarang, Indonesia and its differences in terms of counselor communication skills based on genders and grades. The purpose of this paper is to examine the guidance and counseling services by integrating mindf... more The purpose of this paper is to examine the guidance and counseling services by integrating mindfulness and kawruh jiwa as an effort that can be done by school counselors in shaping psychological well-being of students. The era of disruption as an era that has positive and negative impacts and provides opportunities and challenges to influence the psychological condition of students. Psychological well-being becomes important for students in establishing social relations effectively. Mindfulness and kawruh jiwa almost have the same concept that is characterized by acceptance of what it is by not judging, accepting, releasing, conscious, giving way to students to achieve psychological well-being so as to be able to develop their potential more optimally. Kawruh Jiwa as indigenous counseling is considered necessary to be applied to students so that it is not too far apart from the values and understanding of Javanese culture. Concepts and interventions are discussed in this article.
