Dian Masyita graduated her PhD in Islamic Finance from Durham University, UK in 2012. Prior pursuing her PhD program, she was a member of R&D division in Indonesian Waqf Board (2007-2010). She finished her Master of Engineering in 2001 from the School of Industrial Engineering and Management – Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Indonesia. In 2007, she got STUNED Award for a Postgraduate program at the Executive Program “Financial Management” at the Maastricht School of Management (MSM), Netherlands. In August, 2007, she was awarded “The Best Research Award”, a competitive research paper on the Golden Anniversary of Padjadjaran University. Currently, she is an Associate Professor and Head of Islamic Economics Study Program at the Faculty of Economics & Business, Universitas Padjadjaran, Bandung, Indonesia.

She was awarded two nationals competitive research grants, RUT (2004-2005) and Riset Insentif (2007) from Indonesian government. She wrote frequently on some Indonesian newspapers, journals and magazines. She was one of contributors of edited book titled Creating Opportunities for the Poor through Innovation (2004) and Encyclopedia of Women Islamic and Cultures/EWIC (2007). She had presented papers in many conferences i.e., the System Dynamics Conference, MIT-USA (2005), IRTI-IDB’s Islamic Financial conference (2007) in Brunei Darussalam, Moral Value in Milan Italy (2009), Ustinov Seminar (2010) and DFIP-Kyoto Univ Workshop in Durham (2010 & 2012), Ethics in Financial in Melbourne (2011); two IRTI IDB Conferences in Sudan and Doha-Qatar (2011).

She published her paper in Islamic Economic Studies (IES) Journal by IRTI-IDB (Islamic Development Bank). Vol.21 No.1 June 2013. She presented her paper at 6th of Fundamental of Islamic Finance, join organized by Melbourne Univ, Monash Univ, INCEIF and Durham Univ (2014). As a participant discussion on ISRA – IRTI – Durham Islamic Finance’s Strategic Roundtable Discussion in April 2014, Van Mildert College Durham University, UK. She also published her paper at Journal of Islamic Moneter, Banking and Finance Vol. 1 Agustus 2015 organized by Bank Indonesia. She published her paper in a Book Chapter - Islamic Microfinance for Development published by IRTI - IDB Publisher (2015). In 2016, she presented her paper at Sase Mini Conference on Islamic and The Construction of New Economic Moralities; Divergen, Convergen and Competing Futures at the Univ. California, Berkeley, USA . Her paper also has been presented at International Conference of Islamic Banking and Finance (ICIBF) 2016 - Umm Al Qura - Makkah, Saudi Arabia. She is one of authors of the book with the title, Islamic Microentreprises, published by Bank Indonesia in 2016. In March 2017, she was appointed to be the Chairman of Consumen Cooperative - Insan Abdi Masyarakat located in Bandung which have the business units - The Sixty Two resto & lounge. She has been an assessor for National Accreditation Board of Indonesian Higher Education and also a reviewer of LPDP Scholarship since 2013.
