This problem has an impact on the decline in the level of understanding of students' scientific concepts and process skills. Researchers used a PhET-based STEM approach to overcome these problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the PhET-based STEM approach in improving students' conceptual understanding of physics subjects at SMA N 5 Banda Aceh. Data collection for this study was conducted in March. Analysis of the data used is a statistical test that is independent-t test. The results show that the use of the PhET-based STEM approach has a very positive impact on improving the understanding of physics concepts that are tested through objective tests. This study aimed to determine PjBL-STEM implementations effect to improve science process skills ... more This study aimed to determine PjBL-STEM implementations effect to improve science process skills and students' learning outcomes on the material of substances and their characteristics. The type of research used was a quasі-experiment with a pre-test post-test control group design. The research subjects were students of class VII Darul Ihsan Islamic Junior High School Aceh Besar, which consisted of eight classes. The sample group was determined by purposive sampling technique so that two classes were obtained as the research sample, namely class VII-G as an experimental class and VII-H as a control class. The results showed that the implementation of the PjBL-STEM model could increase students' science process skills. The average students' science process skills in the control and experimental classes were 53 and 55 with sufficient categories. However, after implementing the Discovery Learning model in the control class and PjBL-STEM in the experimental class, the students' science process skills' average score increased to 76 with good categories and 86 with excellent categories. The PjBL-STEM model was also able to improve students' learning outcomes. Based on the results of the t-test analysis with a significant score of 0.05, it showed that the post-test scores in both classes were obtained t-count (2.011) > t-table (1.666), so it was concluded that there was a significant difference between the two classes. N-gain testing showed an increase in students' learning outcomes between the control and experimental classes with scores of 74 and 79. This study concluded that the PjBL-STEM model could improve science process skills and students' learning outcomes.

One proof of its relevance is using plants as natural developers in making pancakes. The purpose of this study was to develop ethnoscience-based worksheets to determine the feasibility and creativity of students. The method used in this research is development research (R&D) using the ADDIE model. The population for this study was students of class XII IA Senior High School 2 Unggul Ali Hasjmy. The sample was selected purposively, namely 28 students. Data were collected using validation tests and creativity observation sheets. The results showed that the development of worksheets was very feasible to use with the percentage of 85.20 given by the validator. Validation of the creativity observation sheet states that 25 of the 26 items are feasible to use. Student creativity also increased with a percentage of the high category 89.00. This article discusses the construct validity of the creative thinking skill instrument supportin... more This article discusses the construct validity of the creative thinking skill instrument supporting a conation idea aspect for biology student-teachers in the subject of Human Physiology. Two hundred and eighteen students participated in this study. Construct validity was obtained through Confirmatory Factor Analysis technique (CFA). Reliability was estimated by composite reliability. Findings show that the construct validity and the reliability of the instrument are high. A thorough discussion on the findings and future implications are provided towards the end of this paper.

This assessment consists of 37 items of divergent tasks, which is the application of human physiology courses that support the conation aspects. The participants were selected from the Biology Education Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Syiah Kuala University. The data were analyzed using the Quest software including the separation index and fit item. The results indicate that the creative thinking skills assessment instrument that supports the conation aspect of prospective biology teachers has a good separation index and all the items fit PCM-1PL.

Tujuan utama dari penelitian generalisasi validitas adalah untuk mengestimasi mean dan variansi v... more Tujuan utama dari penelitian generalisasi validitas adalah untuk mengestimasi mean dan variansi validitas sesungguhnya dari suatu tes seleksi. Prinsip dasar dari model generalisasi validitas adalah pemartisian variansi, yaitu identifikasi dan pemilahan terhadap variansi dari validitas teramati yang bertanggung jawab terhadap error sistematik yang berhubungan dengan artifak statistik dan error dari random sampling. Model dasar untuk generalisasi validitas didasarkan pada suatu struktur persamaan untuk koefisien korelasi teramati antara prediktor X dan kriteria Y, dimana R adalah korelasi teramati, ρ' adalah korelasi populasi yang dibatasi, dan e adalah peluang error yang berhubungan dengan sampling. This research is conducted to reveal : (1) the application of science study strategy with CLIS st... more This research is conducted to reveal : (1) the application of science study strategy with CLIS study model to improve the students’ understanding of earth and universe concept, (2) the science study strategy with CLIS study model to improve the academic attitude of students, (3) the teacher’s and students’ response to science study strategy with CLIS. Method of the research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR), consisting of three cycles. The data were collected using a test, an observation, and an interview. The result of the students’ concept understanding test was processed statistically using “t-Test”. The improvement of student’s understanding was corelated with Pearson Correlation Technique, while the interview and observation were described, then concluded. The result of data analysis indicate that the model of CLIS for universe and earth concept can improve the mastery of concept. In the first cycle action, it is seen that the acquirement of t0 was 9.069; in the second cycle the t value was 4.054; and in the third cycle it was 9.442; which is bigger than tt of only 2.025. It indicates that CLIS study method has improved the students’ concept understanding in every cycle. The correlation result of the first cycle indicates that the value of r is - 0.273; in the second cycle, the value of r was equal to 0.222. While in the third cycle, the value of r is 0.000. It indicates that the CLIS model study does not influence the improvement of the students’ academic attitude. This study model requires much longer time than study method usually used by the teacher, but the students are happy to study with CLIS study model.

Procedures for computing content validity coefficients and determining the statistical significan... more Procedures for computing content validity coefficients and determining the statistical significance of these coefficients are described in this paper. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the content validity for creative thinking skills assessment that support conation aspect of prospective biology teacher. These procedures can be use in a variety of situations were judgements of the content validity of item or questionnaires are made on ordinal rating scales. A panel of six subject-matter experts (SMEs) rated the representation of content based on relevance, construction, and clarity. Computing data set using the Aiken's V formula for determining the statistical significanceof V for small samples of raters on the five point scale are given. The result, of 52 items, those with content validity coefficient greater than 0,79 (48 items) remained and the rest (four items) were discarded.

The result of the students’ concept understanding test was processed statistically using “t-Test”. The improvement of student’s understanding was corelated with Pearson Correlation Technique, while the interview and observation were described, then concluded. The result of data analysis indicate that the model of CLIS for universe and earth concept can improve the mastery of concept. In the first cycle action, it is seen that the acquirement of t0 was 9.069; in the second cycle the t value was 4.054; and in the third cycle it was 9.442; which is bigger than tt of only 2.025. It indicates that CLIS study method has improved the students’ concept understanding in every cycle. The correlation result of the first cycle indicates that the value of r is - 0.273; in the second cycle, the value of r was equal to 0.222. While in the third cycle, the value of r is 0.000. It indicates that the CLIS model study does not influence the improvement of the students’ academic attitude. This study model requires much longer time than study method usually used by the teacher, but the students are happy to study with CLIS study model.

Procedures for computing content validity coefficients and determining the statistical significan... more Procedures for computing content validity coefficients and determining the statistical significance of these coefficients are described in this paper. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the content validity for creative thinking skills assessment that support conation aspect of prospective biology teacher. These procedures can be use in a variety of situations were judgements of the content validity of item or questionnaires are made on ordinal rating scales. A panel of six subject-matter experts (SMEs) rated the representation of content based on relevance, construction, and clarity. Computing data set using the Aiken's V formula for determining the statistical significanceof V for small samples of raters on the five point scale are given. The result, of 52 items, those with content validity coefficient greater than 0,79 (48 items) remained and the rest (four items) were discarded.

The basic model for validity generalization is based on an equation structure of observed correlation coefficients between X predictor and Y criterion, where R is observed correlation, ρ' is the limited population correlation, and e is error probability related to sampling.
