Merci à vous tous ! tel-00776448, version 1 -15 Jan 2013 7 Résumé Cette étude a pour objectif la description syntaxique et sémantique des constructions transitives non locatives à un complément d'objet direct en grec moderne : N 0 V N 1 . Nous nous sommes appuyée sur le cadre théorique de la grammaire transformationnelle de Zellig S. Harris et sur le cadre méthodologique du Lexique-Grammaire, défini par Maurice Gross et développé au Laboratoire d'Automatique Documentaire et Linguistique. À partir de 16 560 entrées verbales morphologiques, nous procédons à la classification des constructions transitives non locatives, à partir de 24 classes distinctes, sur la base de critères formels posés. Un inventaire de 2 934 emplois verbaux à construction transitive non locative à un complément d'objet direct a été ainsi produit et scindé en neuf classes. Parmi ces emplois, 1 884 sont formellement décrits dans 9 tables de lexique-grammaire établies : plus précisément, il s'agit de celles qui impliquent des constructions à un complément d'objet direct illustrant les concepts « apparition » (table 32GA), « disparition » (32GD), objet « concret » (32GC), « partie du corps » (32GCL), substantif « humain » (32GH), substantif avec « pluriel obligatoire » (32GPL). En outre, la transformation passive est largement interdite pour les emplois verbaux recensés dans la table 32GNM, alors que les tables 32GCV et 32GRA regroupent des verbes acceptant une transformation à verbe support. Nous présentons l'application des données linguistiques recensées dans le traitement automatique des langues naturelles (TALN), avec la conversion automatique des tables en automates à états finis récursifs, suivie de nos suggestions sur leur applicabilité à la traduction en français et à l'enseignement du grec moderne (langue maternelle ou étrangère) : acquisition/apprentissage. Our research focuses on transitive non-locative constructions with a concrete direct object (CDO). For example: (a) Η νοσοκόµα κλeίδωσe την πόρτα (The nurse locked the door) Our proposal focuses on learning CDO by means of Unitex, a corpus processing system based on automata oriented technology. For this purpose, we have elaborated a lexicon-grammar table that includes verbs used in simple sentences containing CDO in Modern Greek. Lexicon-grammar is a syntactic model, limited to the description of elementary sentences of a natural language. The description is given in the form of a binary matrix. In our research, this means that a verb has or has not a given property. In the present article we are studying the relation between the prefixsun-and the simple verbal b... more In the present article we are studying the relation between the prefixsun-and the simple verbal basis of the Greek lexicon-grammar in order to find the regularities pertaining to the behavior of the prefixsun-, which will contribute to the semi-automatic enrichment of the electronic dictionary DELAGR. A series of observations on the syntactic structures containing these verbs reveal the fact that prefixation has to be considered in terms of predicative relations and arguments. The article is divided in three parts: 1. presentation of some particularities; 2. description of the inflection of prefixed verbs 3. presentation of data and restraints. ABSTRACT The system of analysis, which we are going to present, INTEX, is a development environme... more ABSTRACT The system of analysis, which we are going to present, INTEX, is a development environment used to build formalised wide-coverage descriptions of natural languages, and to apply them to large-size texts in real time. One essential feature of INTEX is that all the objects dealt with (texts, dictionaries, grammars) are, at one moment or another, represented by finite-state transducers. Our team is in the process of developing the Greek version by building up formal grammars and dictionaries which are as complete as possible. The Greek system already contains 53,800 single nouns, 35,500 adjectives, 12,000 verbs and we are currently working on putting together the dictionary of compound words of the "Adjective Noun" type such as #### ##### (black box). Since representing these units in dictionaries poses problems, we have opted for a graph-type representation. 1.

Sentiment lexicons and word embeddings constitute well-established sources of information for sen... more Sentiment lexicons and word embeddings constitute well-established sources of information for sentiment analysis in online social media. Although their effectiveness has been demonstrated in state-of-the-art sentiment analysis and related tasks in the English language, such publicly available resources are much ess developed and evaluated for the Greek language. In this paper, we tackle the problems arising when analyzing text in such an under-resourced language. We present and make publicly available a rich set of such resources, ranging from a manually annotated lexicon, to semi-supervised word embedding vectors and annotated datasets for different tasks. Our experiments using different algorithms and parameters on our resources show promising results over standard baselines; on average, we achieve a 24.9% relative improvement in F-score on the cross-domain sentiment analysis task when training the same algorithms with our resources, compared to training them on more traditional feature sources, such as n-grams. Importantly, while our resources were built with the primary focus on the crossdomain sentiment analysis task, they also show promising results in related tasks, such as emotion analysis and sarcasm detection.

Στο παρόν άρθρο υποστηρίζεται βιβλιογραφικά και ερευνητικά ότι η ψηφιακή αφήγηση δύναται να συμβά... more Στο παρόν άρθρο υποστηρίζεται βιβλιογραφικά και ερευνητικά ότι η ψηφιακή αφήγηση δύναται να συμβάλει στην ανάπτυξη γλωσσικών δεξιοτήτων κατά τη διδασκαλία της Νέας Ελληνικής ως δεύτερης/ξένης γλώσσας σε παιδιά 8-10 ετών. Αυτό συμβαίνει διότι η ιστορία που μοιράζεται μέσω της ψηφιακής αφήγησης φαίνεται να επεκτείνει
τους παραδοσιακούς τρόπους των γλωσσικών τεχνών, δηλαδή την ανάγνωση, την κατανόηση λόγου, την παραγωγή λόγου και την οπτική αναπαράσταση. Συγκεκριμένα, η ψηφιακή αφήγηση μπορεί να αξιοποιηθεί κατά την εκπαιδευτική διαδικασία είτε ως εργαλείο διδασκαλίας είτε ως μέσο δημιουργίας και παραγωγής λόγου. Κατά την έρευνά μας, αναπτύξαμε μία ψηφιακή αφήγηση βασισμένη στο παραμύθι του Ευγένιου Τριβιζά «Το ποντικάκι που ήθελε να αγγίξει ένα αστεράκι».
Αbstract This paper aims to present the development and implementation of the e-learning communit... more Αbstract This paper aims to present the development and implementation of the e-learning community Routes in Teaching Modern Greek as a Second/Foreign Language, from 2015 to the present. The above programme constitutes a professional training programme addressed to current or future teachers of Modern Greek as a second/foreign language, initiated in 2007 (Ypsilantis, 2008) and constantly reviewed and enriched up to 2015 (Kokkinidou et al., 2014). The programme is based on (a) the theoretical principles of distance learning (Lionarakis, 2001) related with adult education (Kokkos, 2005), (b) experimental knowledge (2007-2015) and (c) the statutory role of the Centre for the Greek Language, as the topic concerns teaching Modern Greek in Greece and abroad. More specifically, we focus on the optimisation process undertaken in the latest version of Routes in Teaching Modern Greek as a Second/Foreign Language.

Greek Language e-Diagnostic tests (MOGEDs). MOGEDs are online
testing applications, available for teachers of Modern Greek as a second or foreign language (L2). They are mainly addressed to adult potential
candidates for CGL’s language exams, willing to assess their language
competence level. MOGEDs are compliant with the standard levels (A1-
C2) of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
(CEFR) (Council of Europe 2001) as adapted for Modern Greek. In this
paper, the structure of MOGEDs will be analysed and compared to
equivalent e-diagnostic tests in terms of the technical architecture adopted. MOGEDs have been developed within the framework of educational technology, taking into account (a) the CGL’s technical expertise in that field in relation with (b) state-of-the-art content design principles and (c) current trends in Information and Communication Technology.

Sentiment lexicons and word embeddings constitute well-established sources of information for sen... more Sentiment lexicons and word embeddings constitute well-established sources of information for sentiment analysis in online social media. Although their effectiveness has been demonstrated in state-of-the-art sentiment analysis and related tasks in the English language, such publicly available resources are much ess developed and evaluated for the Greek language. In this paper, we tackle the problems arising when analyzing text in such an under-resourced language. We present and make publicly available a rich set of such resources, ranging from a manually annotated lexicon, to semi-supervised word embedding vectors and annotated datasets for different tasks. Our experiments using different algorithms and parameters on our resources show promising results over standard baselines; on average, we achieve a 24.9% relative improvement in F-score on the cross-domain sentiment analysis task when training the same algorithms with our resources, compared to training them on more traditional feature sources, such as n-grams. Importantly, while our resources were built with the primary focus on the crossdomain sentiment analysis task, they also show promising results in related tasks, such as emotion analysis and sarcasm detection.

Στο παρόν άρθρο υποστηρίζεται βιβλιογραφικά και ερευνητικά ότι η ψηφιακή αφήγηση δύναται να συμβά... more Στο παρόν άρθρο υποστηρίζεται βιβλιογραφικά και ερευνητικά ότι η ψηφιακή αφήγηση δύναται να συμβάλει στην ανάπτυξη γλωσσικών δεξιοτήτων κατά τη διδασκαλία της Νέας Ελληνικής ως δεύτερης/ξένης γλώσσας σε παιδιά 8-10 ετών. Αυτό συμβαίνει διότι η ιστορία που μοιράζεται μέσω της ψηφιακής αφήγησης φαίνεται να επεκτείνει
τους παραδοσιακούς τρόπους των γλωσσικών τεχνών, δηλαδή την ανάγνωση, την κατανόηση λόγου, την παραγωγή λόγου και την οπτική αναπαράσταση. Συγκεκριμένα, η ψηφιακή αφήγηση μπορεί να αξιοποιηθεί κατά την εκπαιδευτική διαδικασία είτε ως εργαλείο διδασκαλίας είτε ως μέσο δημιουργίας και παραγωγής λόγου. Κατά την έρευνά μας, αναπτύξαμε μία ψηφιακή αφήγηση βασισμένη στο παραμύθι του Ευγένιου Τριβιζά «Το ποντικάκι που ήθελε να αγγίξει ένα αστεράκι».
Αbstract This paper aims to present the development and implementation of the e-learning communit... more Αbstract This paper aims to present the development and implementation of the e-learning community Routes in Teaching Modern Greek as a Second/Foreign Language, from 2015 to the present. The above programme constitutes a professional training programme addressed to current or future teachers of Modern Greek as a second/foreign language, initiated in 2007 (Ypsilantis, 2008) and constantly reviewed and enriched up to 2015 (Kokkinidou et al., 2014). The programme is based on (a) the theoretical principles of distance learning (Lionarakis, 2001) related with adult education (Kokkos, 2005), (b) experimental knowledge (2007-2015) and (c) the statutory role of the Centre for the Greek Language, as the topic concerns teaching Modern Greek in Greece and abroad. More specifically, we focus on the optimisation process undertaken in the latest version of Routes in Teaching Modern Greek as a Second/Foreign Language.

This paper reports on a corpus-based description of predicative nouns in a register-diversified f... more This paper reports on a corpus-based description of predicative nouns in a register-diversified financial corpus. Structural linguistics (Chomsky 1981) and register analysis (Biber & Conrad 2009) are the theoretical backgrounds of this research. As predicative noun, we define a noun derived from a verb, an adjective or a noun that occurs in support verb constructions (Gross 1981). In order to identify the predicative nouns occurring in a Modern Greek financial corpus we applied a. five Lexicon-Grammar tables containing predicative nouns, along with their distributional and transformational properties (Tziafa 2012); b. 122 finite state automata (Ioannidou 2013), representing noun phrases.

Στόχος είναι η δηµιουργία κατάλληλου υποστηρικτικού υλικού κατά τον σχεδιασµό µαθήµατος, ικανού να εµπλέξει διδάσκοντες και µαθητές σε ενεργές διαδικασίες γλωσσικής επίγνωσης. Οι καλές πρακτικές που θα παρουσιαστούν βασίζονται σε επιλεγµένα επιγραµµικά ηλεκτρονικά εργαλεία του Web 2.0, ελεύθερα προσβάσιµα και χρήσιµα τόσο για την προετοιµασία του διδάσκοντα για το γλωσσικό µάθηµα, όσο και για την αυτονόµηση των µαθητών και τη συνέχιση της µάθησης εκτός τάξης.

Since bilingual dictionaries are usually limited up to two-word terms (Petrovic et al 2010), we propose the use of the chunking method for the generation of multiword candidate terms, having corpora as a starting point that have been morphologically analysed. The chunked text provides as much linguistic information as possible without major terminology lexical resources.
