I would like begin with a short disclaimer: though the title of my paper proclaims the study of t... more I would like begin with a short disclaimer: though the title of my paper proclaims the study of the evolution of serialization from the nineteenth to 21 st centuries, I found in the process of writing that my focus evolved. As such, the continuity between the seriality of different centuries forms the foundation of my argument, but is not its focus; instead, this paper is concerned with drawing together seriality and genre studies.
