I he use of vegetation indices (Vis: might help to adjust fertilizer and irrigation, increase yie... more I he use of vegetation indices (Vis: might help to adjust fertilizer and irrigation, increase yield and reduce costs and nitrogen {N) losses, 'the objectives were to evaluate the use of Vis extracted from remote sensing imagery to estimate crop N status, yield and grain N content in wheat (Trilicum acstivum, Lj. A field experiment conducted with four N fertilizer levels randomly distributed in 32 plots (25x25 m 2), half irrigated and half rain fed. At two sampling times, biomass and N uptake were determined, ground sensors measurements were taken, and multi-spectral imagery was acquired by an unmanned aerial vehicle. At harvest, yield was recorded with a combine and grain N determined. Vis obtained from ground measurements were highly correlated with those from theaerial platform. Using planar domain Vis, which relate N concentration and biomass, correlated well to crop N status and showed high potential for fertilizer recommendation, as well as yield and grain N prediction in wheat.

This article shows the experience of applying technologies based on web 2.0 in an environment of ... more This article shows the experience of applying technologies based on web 2.0 in an environment of learning at university level. Students are more and more familiar with such tools and learning at the University should be sensitive to this evolution. This tutorial 2.0 is based on two virtual environments that support and improve communication in the teaching-learning process: Moodle as an "institutional adapted" platform, and Site Google as an open platform. The temporary planning has been done with the design of a timeline. The implementation of the tutorial 2.0 has been highly accepted by the students. With respect to the teaching staff, they need permanent updates and the adaptation of web 2.0 tools in the development of the subject's guide.
Based on the acquired experience on teaching and learning the subjects of Graphic Expression and ... more Based on the acquired experience on teaching and learning the subjects of Graphic Expression and Geomatic Techniques in different study plans of engineering degrees, a group of lecturers is working on the generation of new resources and documented materials based on the 3D Models and Augmented Reality application. In this paper we present an advance of results of the Educational Innovation Project IE1617-2007 "Augmented Reality and 3D in Graphic Expression and Geomatics ". Project objectives are designed to help the student to develop a better spatial vision in the 2D-3D process. Finally, by means of these tools, we propose to increase the efficiency in the use and application of tools and geomatic techniques. This paper presents a study in which the relationship between basic subjects (Mathematics and Phy... more This paper presents a study in which the relationship between basic subjects (Mathematics and Physics) and applied engineering subjects (related to Machinery, Electrical Engineering, Topography and Buildings) in higher engineering education curricula is evaluated. The analysis has been conducted using the academic records of 206 students for five years. Furthermore, 34 surveys and personal interviews were conducted to analyze the connections between the contents taught in each subject and to identify student perceptions of the correlation with other subjects or disciplines. At the same time, the content of the different subjects have been analyzed to verify the relationship among the disciplines.Aproper coordination among subjects will allow students to relate and interconnect topics of different subjects, even with the ones learnt in previous courses, while also helping to reduce dropout rates and student failures in successfully accomplishing the different courses.

En este trabajo se ha reconstruido y animado graficamente con software de Dibujo Asistido por Ord... more En este trabajo se ha reconstruido y animado graficamente con software de Dibujo Asistido por Ordenador el proyecto de diseno y puesta en marcha de una bodega para la elaboracion de vino blanco joven, amparada en la Denominacion de Origen “Rueda”, en Medina del Campo, provincia de Valladolid, Espana. El resultado final del trabajo, es la reconstruccion grafica en 3D de la bodega, de sus diversos departamentos y de la maquinaria para la elaboracion del vino. Igualmente se ha realizado un video que muestra las distintas fases de la construccion de la nave que alberga la agroindustria. Dicho video tambien desarrolla un recorrido virtual que sigue el flujo de elaboracion del vino desde la entrada en recepcion de la materia prima hasta el embotellado del producto final. Lo innovador de este trabajo esta mas en sus consecuencias docentes. Palabras clave: Ingenieria Grafica. Innovacion. DAO.

En este estudio se contrasta la cabida catastral frente a la superficie medida por medios topograficos del estado actual de la propiedad, considerando a su vez las afecciones administrativas, escrituras y situaciones posesorias historicas de la parcela. Todo ello fusionado en un concepto integrador: SUPERFICIE MEDIDA E INVESTIGADA (SMI). Many of the nation’s treasured places, however, have deteriorated or have even disappeared. What is left, then, should be studied and documented both graphically and infographically. It is important to preserve and document Spain’s unique locations, especially those related to vernacular heritage, to transhumance and visual impact assessment in many national infrastructures projects. Windmills are important examples of agro-industrial heritage and are sometimes found in the beds of streams and rivers but can also be found high in the hills. Their presence is constant throughout the Iberian Peninsula. These mills are no longer in use due to technological advances and the emergence of new grinding systems. La creciente preocupacion por parte de la sociedad respecto del medio ambiente que nos rodea, ha ... more La creciente preocupacion por parte de la sociedad respecto del medio ambiente que nos rodea, ha hecho que las administraciones de ambito local recojan las inquietudes de los ciudadanos e intenten dar soluciones mediante la creacion de lo que se viene a denominar espacios verdes urbanos: son nuestros parques y jardines publicos. Sin embargo, dia a dia surgen nuevas demandas por parte de los distintos grupos sociales, pasando de la mera creacion o representacion estetica del campo en la ciudad a dotar a estos entornos de elementos en los que la practicidad toma un valor relevante. Increasingly more administration and users themselves arouse us that the same citizen which must acquire proper training to deal with any problems that arise in the field of security. Today may be timely use of information systems as an aid to emergency systems that are intended to provide service to society. The study aims to facilitate the work of those responsible for civil protection through the optimal use of geo-information to shorten response times.
The anaerobic digestion of food waste for energy recovery produces a nutrient-rich digestate whic... more The anaerobic digestion of food waste for energy recovery produces a nutrient-rich digestate which is a valuable source of crop available nitrogen (N). As with any ‘new’ material being recycled to agricultural land it is important to develop best management practices that maximise crop available N supply, whilst minimising emissions to the environment. The objective of this study was to measure N losses following application of food-based digestate, green/food compost and green compost to agricultural land via ammonia (NH3) volatilisation and nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions to air, and nitrate (NO3) leaching to water, and to compare these with losses from livestock manure (slurry and solids farmyard manure –FYM).

It is intended to facilitate data-based services to citizens through the use of mobile devices in green spaces, parks and most visited public gardens. The selected area of study has been the Plaza de Oriente (Madrid) and its surroundings. Maps and images from different sources of information have been implemented in this research work.Then we proceeded to develop a database with woodland and existing cultural heritage. Finally, related this information using geolocation and augmented reality system. We have created a system that allows the user to interact with the single orientation of the camera on your mobile device. This application allows efficient use through the integration of mobile devices and the knowledge of the cultural heritage associated with the public space.

Through immersive reality, the student realises at the same time each of the details or events that are occurring in the learning process in a 360 degrees scenario. The use of these techniques offers the sensation of presence in scenarios that otherwise, either by distance or difficult access, it would be very difficult to bring to the students. The objective of this work is the elaboration of teaching resources to improve the efficiency in the learning of geomatics techniques taking advantage of these immersive techniques. The teaching resources will consist of the elaboration of situations that can be registered through immersive reality as well as the development of guides of teaching practices. En este trabajo se muestra una experiencia en la generacion de Modelos Digitales de Elevaciones (... more En este trabajo se muestra una experiencia en la generacion de Modelos Digitales de Elevaciones (MDE) a partir de algoritmos de correlacion automatica propios de una Estacion de Fotogrametria Digital (EFD), asi como una evaluacion sobre la precision obtenida en funcion de los datos disponibles y de la metodologia empleada. Este estudio se aplica a un espacio singular denominado cerro “Calderico” en el que se ubican los famosos molinos de viento de Don Quijote en Consuegra (Toledo, Espana), donde se diferencian tres zonas, caracterizadas principalmente por su distinta pendiente. Una vez creados los diferentes MDE para los ambitos descritos se efectua un analisis estadistico que nos servira para hacer una valoracion cuantitativa tanto de los modelos como de las ortoimagenes que se obtengan. Los resultados que se aportan indican mayor disparidad en la precision de los puntos homologos identificados en cada MDE para las zonas de mas desnivel y menor en las zonas con pendiente mas suave....
Los molinos de viento son construcciones que dan testimonio de la actividad industrial en otras e... more Los molinos de viento son construcciones que dan testimonio de la actividad industrial en otras epocas, del esfuerzo humano por controlar las fuerzas de la naturaleza y explotar sus recursos. Como reflejo de ese proceso de la historia industrial han permanecido algunos de estos edificios singulares o restos de ellos. La finalidad de la propuesta que se desarrolla es que la documentacion historica, grafica y tecnologica obtenida mediante tecnicas digitales actuales (EFD, GNSS, DAO, Infografia) sirva de motivacion a las autoridades regionales, para que tomen las medidas oportunas en aras a una mejor preservacion y divulgacion de este Patrimonio Historico Nacional.

En este trabajo se muestra una experiencia en la generacion de Modelos Digitales de Elevaciones (... more En este trabajo se muestra una experiencia en la generacion de Modelos Digitales de Elevaciones (MDE) a partir de algoritmos de correlacion automatica propios de una Estacion de Fotogrametria Digital (EFD), asi como una evaluacion sobre la precision obtenida en funcion de los datos disponibles y de la metodologia empleada. Este estudio se aplica a un espacio singular denominado cerro “Calderico” en el que se ubican los famosos molinos de viento de Don Quijote en Consuegra (Toledo, Espana), donde se diferencian tres zonas, caracterizadas principalmente por su distinta pendiente. Una vez creados los diferentes MDE para los ambitos descritos se efectua un analisis estadistico que nos servira para hacer una valoracion cuantitativa tanto de los modelos como de las ortoimagenes que se obtengan. Los resultados que se aportan indican mayor disparidad en la precision de los puntos homologos identificados en cada MDE para las zonas de mas desnivel y menor en las zonas con pendiente mas suave....
Los molinos de viento son construcciones que dan testimonio de la actividad industrial en otras e... more Los molinos de viento son construcciones que dan testimonio de la actividad industrial en otras epocas, del esfuerzo humano por controlar las fuerzas de la naturaleza y explotar sus recursos. Como reflejo de ese proceso de la historia industrial han permanecido algunos de estos edificios singulares o restos de ellos. La finalidad de la propuesta que se desarrolla es que la documentacion historica, grafica y tecnologica obtenida mediante tecnicas digitales actuales (EFD, GNSS, DAO, Infografia) sirva de motivacion a las autoridades regionales, para que tomen las medidas oportunas en aras a una mejor preservacion y divulgacion de este Patrimonio Historico Nacional.
