The smart city is a modern concept that is well appreciated in any public administration, busines... more The smart city is a modern concept that is well appreciated in any public administration, business environment, or civil society. The impact of the Internet of Things is quite visible at every step of our lives, including smart education as we progress in our professional career. From smart education to a smart city, the scope of this work is to provide an answer about the huge role to play in catalysing this association process between education and the development of a sustainable economy in Romania, and raising the quality of life. In this context, smart projects have been implemented with the main purpose of increasing the digitalization of public services in urban areas. Despite the pandemic crisis, today in Romania, the Smart City marketplace is at the laboratory degree with many pilot projects. The last 2021 Romanian report has been based primarily on an inventory of 860 projects (planed, in progress, or finalized) related to 124 large, medium, and small cities, compared to the 594 projects related to 87 cities that had been subject of the 2020 report. In order to provide an increasing to the digitalization of public services in most of the urban areas, the paper proposes an integrated system architecture, a solution that can be adapted according to the particularities existing in the field by any local public administration, in line with the European Commission's development strategy and policies for a future digital Europe.

The motivation behind integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in the... more The motivation behind integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in the education process is not commercial profit, but a desire to nurture human potential. STEM education and entrepreneurship share common success factors that rely on the qualities, skills, abilities, and competencies of learners. These two fields are interconnected by interdisciplinary relationships that promote creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. This study aims to investigate how closely the business life cycle and lifelong learning are associated with the study context in these two areas. The study will examine definitions, theories, principles, and models to show how both the business world and STEM education can solve real problems. Ultimately, this article provides an original and comprehensive explanation of the steps needed to achieve success in both entrepreneurship and STEM.

This paper presents innovative approaches to the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into... more This paper presents innovative approaches to the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, taking into account ethical challenges. Artificial intelligence is omnipresent in our society, and its integration into education is essential to prepare students for technology challenges. The methodology is based on a solid theoretical foundation, incorporating established teaching theories and analysing the interdisciplinary between AI and STEM fields.
The practical implementation of the proposed scenario will be detailed, starting with school selection and close cooperation with teachers to ensure efficient integration. The pilot phase will allow for real-time adjustments and feedback collection, contributing to the continuous adaptation of the scenario. Monitoring student performance, data analysis, and constant reflection are integrated into the process of assessing impact and identifying improvements.
The anticipated results of the scenario implementation are expected to reveal significant improvements in students' performance, their adaptability to AI technologies, and their better application of STEM knowledge in the real context. Furthermore, this scenario emphasises the ethical approach to discussing the responsible use of AI in education. The proposal provides a detailed methodology for implementing this innovative approach and makes an important contribution to integrating AI into STEM education.

This article compares the impact of technology and communication during the COVID-19 pandemic and... more This article compares the impact of technology and communication during the COVID-19 pandemic and teacher strikes. Both relied on technology for remote communication and organization. Online platforms, video conferencing, and messaging apps facilitated teaching and participation during the pandemic and helped coordination during strikes. The media played an important role in the transmission of messages and the shaping of public opinion. Differences emerged as the pandemic focused on learning continuity and health concerns, while strikes addressed payment concerns and negotiations. Effective communication and adaptability were crucial in managing these crises. The findings inform communication dynamics in complex situations that benefit the learning process and social relationships.

Învățarea trebuie să continue să evolueze iar tehnologia, instrumentele, device-urile, pot ajuta ... more Învățarea trebuie să continue să evolueze iar tehnologia, instrumentele, device-urile, pot ajuta la îndeplinirea acestui aspect. Lumea noastră a devenit locul în care se poate învăța rapid orice, de oriunde și, în multe domenii, experiența acumulată este doar o mică parte din capacitatea noastră de a asimila și de a pune în practică ceea ce am învăţat.
Viitorul educației este incitant dar și înfricoșător în acelaşi timp. Școlile și educația, în general, la toate nivelurile de profesionalitate (inclusiv, deci, la nivelul preuniversitar) trebuie să evolueze pentru a îmbrățișa noi stiluri de învățare și tehnologii care pot captiva elevii, menținând în același timp integritatea cunoștințelor în domenii precum literatura și istoria care ajută la crearea unor oameni bine formaţi. Baza eforturilor noastre de schimbare și transformare digitală în educație a condus, de asemenea, la dezvoltarea unei societăţi informaţionale explozive, care este absolut disponibilă în toate ramurile de activitate, atât de natură tehnologică, financiară, economică, socială şi culturală.

Regarding the etymology of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), some authors con... more Regarding the etymology of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), some authors consider 1990 as the appearance of the year of the concept [1]. Advancing STEM education: A 2020 vision). Here is what he says: "STEM had its origins in the 1990s at the National Science Foundation (NSF) and has been used as a generic label for any event, policy, programme, or practice that involves one or several STEM disciplines. However, a recent survey on the "perception of STEM" found that most professionals in STEM-related fields lacked an understanding of the acronym STEM. Most respondents linked the acronym to 'stem cell research" or to plants (Keefe, 2010). Once again, the education community has embraced a slogan without really taking the time to clarify what the term might mean when applied beyond a general label '[1].' As a general idea that correctly reflects reality, the name Ada Lovelace has been used since 2009 to celebrate the contribution of women in STEM, through Ada Lovelace Day, conferences with international participation, including recently in October 2020, virtually [2].

Throughout history, human society has gone through industrial revolutions and significant changes in lifestyle and learning. These developments have necessitated a clear need to adapt educational systems and prepare individuals for a complex and dynamic world.The article delves into the concept of quality management and its connection to innovation. Additionally, it examines how terms related to society and education are used to describe these changes in human evolution. The integration of STEM education in schools is presented as a necessary solution to meet the current and future challenges of society, ensuring that students are well prepared to contribute to human progress and technological innovation. This evolution is crucial for an uncertain but exciting future.Through this article, the continued importance of integrating STEM education into the educational system is highlighted to address the changing needs of society and to ensure a brighter future.

Purpose-The article aims to examine classroom management in specific traditional learning spaces ... more Purpose-The article aims to examine classroom management in specific traditional learning spaces as one of the disruptive factors of the post-pandemic educational process. This reduces the attraction of educational facilities. Comparing cases from theoretical and technological classrooms will provide more realistic evidence of the phenomenon studied. Methodology/approach-Based on short reviews of the literature on Romania's pre-university education system and real observations of two different secondary schools, and based on questionnaires, a survey was developed. The main objective is to provide information, opinions, and figures on the role of classroom management in post-pandemic education. Findings-Respondents were satisfied with physical learning spaces, ambient environments, furniture, lighting, air, and sound quality. Teachers and students used technology and devices under appropriate conditions. Ergonomics can be a solution to improving work and learning conditions. Research limitations/implications-The research sample consists of 66 respondents from two classes of two branches: one technological and one theoretical, in Romania. Practical implications-School managers, local and national policy makers must develop visions that integrate space, technology, and education quality standards. Teachers' health and safety at work should be more emphasized. STEM education should be better supported with modern didactic materials. Originality/value-This research approach has been designed and applied in an innovative way, as no other similar study has been identified in the literature.

Based on the findings of the study, the new and the old one, we could be able to develop a motivational program taking into consideration all the key findings and suggest policies and initiatives that could empower and enhance them to keep clean water. The analysis will be fundamental to develop entrepreneurial competences taking into consideration exchange of good practices project also.

An attempt to explore the way the two fields intersect by means of exchanging both strengths: project management know-how areas, on the one hand, and sustainability tools, a win-win for improving the efficiency of implementing sustenability in every project. The research objective is to define concepts, terminology and conceptual clarifications on the management of sustainable urban development projects, the bibliographic reference, which will present the historical evolution and the current state of knowledge in the field (theories, studies and relationships, good practices, definitions). The scope of this effort is to dive into the maze of a literature review in order to identify the link between project management and sustainability and the transition paved by unique and challenging experiences which shifts towards a green and inclusive future.

For more than a year, the way people work and learn witnessed dramatic changes on the back of the... more For more than a year, the way people work and learn witnessed dramatic changes on the back of the Covid-19 pandemic. While workers were supported and provided with trainings and a variety of sources of information, students did not benefit from the same ‘privilege’. In Romania, students had to adapt to online learning system since March 2020. To properly assess the impact of online learning on students’ health (both physical and mental), the authors conducted a study on students at Politehnica University of Timisoara. As part of this study, subjects were assessed using ‘Rapid Office Strain Assessment’ (ROSA). While some of them learn in ergonomic conditions, there are others exposed to high postural risk (primarily generated by use of inappropriate furniture). This assessment is part of a larger ergonomic intervention focused on educating students on the importance of creating ergonomic conditions at home with the aim to improve quality of life.

According to nowadays Digital Era, companies need to focus more and more on their intangible asse... more According to nowadays Digital Era, companies need to focus more and more on their intangible assets and the new factors of production in order to increase creativity and initiative. Thus, the article will focus on the scientific debate on human capital and entrepreneurship from the perspective of the knowledge-based economy theories. Furthermore, there will be explored the entrepreneurial behaviour and competences as part of the human capital, perceived as important intangible asset. The study will present an inventory of ideas on how the competencies (as part of human capital-HC) could support the entrepreneurs' success. Based on a structured interview with trainers/teachers a weak perception about the "capital" concept will be shown, HC and its relationship with entrepreneurship. Then, there will be presented a bibliometric research on human capital entrepreneurship to discover the gaps and defining the state of the research.

While some of them learn in ergonomic conditions, there are others exposed to high postural risk (primarily generated by use of inappropriate furniture). This assessment is part of a larger ergonomic intervention focused on educating students on the importance of creating ergonomic conditions at home with the aim to improve quality of life.

Thus, the article will focus on the scientific debate on human capital and entrepreneurship from the perspective of the knowledge-based economy theories. Furthermore, there will be explored the entrepreneurial behaviour and competences as part of the human capital, perceived as important intangible asset. The study will present an inventory of ideas on how the competencies (as part of human capital-HC) could support the entrepreneurs' success. Based on a structured interview with trainers/teachers a weak perception about the "capital" concept will be shown, HC and its relationship with entrepreneurship. Then, there will be presented a bibliometric research on human capital entrepreneurship to discover the gaps and defining the state of the research.

Despre conceptul "consumatorul este rege". Acest concept reprezintă ideea că consumatorul ocupă o poziție centrală în economie și că piața și producătorii ar trebui să se concentreze pe satisfacerea nevoilor și preferințelor acestuia. Această abordare se bazează pe ideea că succesul unei afaceri depinde în mare măsură de capacitatea sa de a răspunde în mod eficient și eficace cerințelor și așteptărilor clienților săi. Unul dintre principiile fundamentale ale conceptului "consumatorul este rege" este că consumatorii au puterea de a influența piața prin alegerile lor. Dacă un produs sau un serviciu nu satisface nevoile sau preferințele lor, consumatorii pot alege să îl respingă și să se orienteze către alternative mai bune. In prezent si in viitor este clar pentru oricine ca o simpla observatie a unui fenomen economic, ... more In prezent si in viitor este clar pentru oricine ca o simpla observatie a unui fenomen economic, fara un studiu matematic si statistic aprofundat, nu mai este satisfacatoare si nu poate fi acceptata fara urmari dintre cele mai grave. Folosirea metodelor matematicii in practica economica, de orice nivel, constituie o preocupare cu efecte benefice in rezolvarea problemelor economice actuale. Cel care este interesat de studiul fenomenelor economice trebuie sa aiba o pregatire interdisciplinara. Studierea globala a aspectelor calitative si cantitative a unui fenomen economic necesita un anumit volum de notiuni, concepte si metode matematice care considerate ca un ansamblu dau un asa numit model matematic atasat fenomenului studiat. Modelarea este un atribut al activitatii umane, intalnit in procesul de cunoastere al lumii, prin care omul reuseste sa surprinda esentialul si sa descopere legile dupa care se guverneaza fenomenele naturale, sociale si psihice. Utilizarea matematicii in probleme economice, prin utilizarea modelelor matematice, nu este o chestiune simpla. Istoric, ele cocheteaza de mult timp, dar rezolvarea problemelor ridicate de studiul unui fenomen economic, numarul mare de date care lucreaza si volumul mare de calcule necesare, pretindea o tehnica de calcul puternica. Aparitia informaticii si calculatoarelor rapide au facut sa apara capitole noi in matematica, care sa se procupe de modelarea proceselor economice, ca de exemplu cercetarile operationale. In literatura de specialitate ,,cercetarea operationala este pregatirea stiintifica a decizilor". In conditiile actuale este necesar ca la orice nivel de decizie sa prelucram un numar mare de informatii si date care sa permita un rationament logic in alegerea variantei cele mai potrivite. Un alt motiv care pledeaza pentru utilizarea matematicii in studiul proceselor economice este si dorinta omului de a atinge un anumit optim. Problema alegerii dintr-o multime de rezultate posibile pe cel optim, in concordanta cu un anumit scop, este de o importanta majora pentru orice economist, teoretician sau practician. Notiunea de optim, destul de veche in gandirea economica legata direct de practica, apare intr-o noua lumina prin posibilitatile oferite de matematica contemporana. Daca in trecut, continutul optimului economic functiona, cel mai adesea, dupa principiul ,,cu cat mai mult, cu atat mai bine", in prezent optimul economic lucreza dupa principiul ,,profit maxim in conditii date". Utilizarea calculului diferential si integral in economia politica, incepand cu sfarsitul secolului al XIX-lea si inceputul secolului al XX-lea, era o necesitate. Asa s-a nascut economia matematica, care, treptat s-a impus in cercetarile economice. In conformitate cu aceste preocupari, in economia matematica s-au creat noi metode precise de optimizare a activitatii economice, apelandu-se la ramurile existente in matematica, dar si cerand imperios gasirea solutiilor optime cat mai rapid si cat mai exact. Asa au aparut metodele de programare matematica in rezolvarea unor probleme de optimizare a activitatii unor intreprinderi ,a unor societati de comert, turism sau cu preocupari agricole. Problemele puse de practica economica stimuleaza continuu descoperirea de noi metode matematice. Fara sa gresim putem afirma ca exista o conlucrare benefica, atat pentru economisti, cat si pentru matematicieni.

This paper presents innovative approaches to the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into... more This paper presents innovative approaches to the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, taking into account ethical challenges. Artificial intelligence is omnipresent in our society, and its integration into education is essential to prepare students for technology challenges. The methodology is based on a solid theoretical foundation, incorporating established teaching theories and analysing the interdisciplinary between AI and STEM fields.
The practical implementation of the proposed scenario will be detailed, starting with school selection and close cooperation with teachers to ensure efficient integration. The pilot phase will allow for real-time adjustments and feedback collection, contributing to the continuous adaptation of the scenario. Monitoring student performance, data analysis, and constant reflection are integrated into the process of assessing impact and identifying improvements.
The anticipated results of the scenario implementation are expected to reveal significant improvements in students' performance, their adaptability to AI technologies, and their better application of STEM knowledge in the real context. Furthermore, this scenario emphasises the ethical approach to discussing the responsible use of AI in education. The proposal provides a detailed methodology for implementing this innovative approach and makes an important contribution to integrating AI in STEM education.

Both relied on technology for remote communication and organization. Online platforms, video conferencing, and messaging apps facilitated teaching and participation during the pandemic and helped coordination during strikes. The media played an important role in the transmission of messages and the shaping of public opinion. Differences emerged as the pandemic focused on learning continuity and health concerns, while strikes addressed payment concerns and negotiations. Effective communication and adaptability were crucial in managing these crises. The findings inform communication dynamics in complex situations that benefit the learning process and social relationships.
