I am a scholar of empire, gender, and science/technology/medicine. I am interested in melding histories of the very large and the very small. My research is focused mostly on the Francophone world and on Estonian/Baltic/Soviet history.

I also edit the cultural magazine Vikerkaar, a member of the Eurozine network, and occasionally comment on politics and culture in Estonian media.
