Ia muncul semula dalam sastera moden hasil daripada perjuangan tokoh-tokoh reformasi Islam untuk dijadikan sastera sebagai wasilah dakwah. Tujuan kajian ini ialah untuk mengenal pasti kemunculan pemikiran sastera Islam, tokoh pelopor dan perdebatan definisi. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan pemikirannya muncul sekitar 50-an dekad lalu melalui laungan tokoh-tokoh reformasi Islam yang terkenal, iaitu Abu Hassan al-Nadawi, Sayyid Qutub, M. Qutub, Raf’at Basha dan Imaduddin Khalil. Definisi ini telah diperdebatkan dan mencapai kemantapannya. Definisi ini boleh diaplikasikan dalam menilai bahan sastera di Malaysia.

This research aimed to determine the training needs of female Qur'an teachers in Sultanate of Oma... more This research aimed to determine the training needs of female Qur'an teachers in Sultanate of Oman which are about the teaching skills and the impact of governorate's variable (workplace) on the training needs of female Qur'an teachers in Sultanate of Oman. The descriptive approach is used in this research. The researcher developed the research's instrument which contains 50 variables that represent the training skills in 10 dimensions. The constancy of the instrument was confirmed for the internal consistency based on the Cronbach's alpha and the correlation coefficient showed that the measure has a high degree of structural honesty after the instrument was presented to a group of arbitrators. The sample consists of all female Qur'an teachers in Sultanate of Oman which was distributed randomly to 249 of them. Through using the SPSS, the results show that the level of training needs in its overall average gets 3.53 which estimated to be (high), and at the level of other fields, the averages ranged between 3.71-3.04 with ratings between (large-medium). The results showed statistically significant differences in the variable of the workplace (Governorate) regarding the training needs for the female Qur'an teachers in Sultanate of Oman, in favor of the governorates with the lowest averages as follows: Musandam Governorate, then Al Dhahira Governorate and at last Muscat Governorate. Based on the results, a number of recommendations and proposals were made to provide the most important training needs of teachers, design, and implementation of training programs according to needs, as well as proposals for further studies to complement the topic.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the correlation between the enhancement pattern of he... more The objective of this study was to evaluate the correlation between the enhancement pattern of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) on contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) and tumour cellular differentiation on histopathology. 189 HCC lesions in 189 patients were retrospectively evaluated with CEUS and histopathological examination. CEUS was performed with SonoVue and contrast pulse sequencing. Histopathological diagnoses were made according to the Edmonson grading system. Significant differences were shown between the time that the HCC became hypoenhancing or remained echogenic in late phase and tumour cellular differentiation (p = 0.006; p = 0.036), but not with the time of commencement of hyperenhancing or commencement of isoenhancing in arterial phase and portal phase (p = 0.164, p = 0.113; p = 0.186, p = 0.070). The timing of HCC becoming hypoenhancing on CEUS is correlated with tumour cellular differentiation; well differentiated tumours wash out more slowly than poorly differentiated ones.

Jika ditekuni mengenai definisi disiplin ini, terdapat pelbagai takrifan yang boleh memberi pemahaman jelas tentang disiplin ini. Antara takrifan Kesusasteraan Bandingan ialah "The study of literature beyond the boundaries of one nation or culture or language. It also examines the relationships between literature and other areas, e.g. the arts, music, social sciences, religion, philosophy and so forth … Theoretically, the comparative study of literature thus provides us with a wide and open field." (Schipper, Mineke, 1989: 1). Takrifan ini memberi satu pemahaman jelas tentang disiplin Kesusasteraan Bandingan yang sangat luas hingga melepasi sempadan bangsa, budaya dan bahasa. Selain itu, disiplin ini juga mencakupi soal hubungan kesusasteraan dengan aspek-aspek lain seperti kesenian, muzik, agama dan sebagainya. Selain itu, persoalan tentang aspek sumber, pengaruh dan adaptasi merupakan antara yang penting untuk diperhalusi dalam kajian-kajian melibatkan Kesusasteraan Bandingan. Melalui kosa kata, frasa akan dapat dibina. Begitu juga kefahaman frasa akan dapat dicapai melalui kefahaman makna kosa kata. Tanpa saiz kosa kata yang mencukupi, penguasaan bahasa tidak dapat dicapai. Kajian ini bertujuan melihat tahap penguasaan kosa kata bidang sastera Arab dalam kalangan pelajar ijazah sarjana muda bahasa Arab. Bagi melihat tahap tersebut, set ujian disediakan melalui terjemahan kosa kata pilihan yang telah melalui kesahan pakar dalam bidang sastera Arab. Sampel adalah pelajar tahun akhir yang telah mengikuti beberapa kursus tentang sastera Arab. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan pelajar lemah dalam penguasaan kosa kata bidang sastera Arab. Kelemahan penguasaan kosa kata memberi implikasi terhadap kelemahan memahami perbincangan dalam bidang ini. Kajian ini turut mencadangkan agar pelajar bahasa Arab dapat menggunakan strategi pembelajaran bahasa bagi meningkatkan pemerolehan kosa kata dalam bahasa sasaran mereka.

This research aims to identify ortografical errors in directed essay written by the bachelor of A... more This research aims to identify ortografical errors in directed essay written by the bachelor of Arabic and Communication students (SMBaK), Faculty of Major Language Studies USIM. The samples consist of 33 male and female students. They are requested to write an essay. From the essay, the reasearchers find their errors and analyze the frequencies. Besides that the errors has been listed out as examples in this research. It is hoped that the research also helping them by giving some suggestions to solve the errors problem. It will be a reference to the teachers in essay writing. Besides that, this research uses the error analysis methodology adapted from Aly Ahmed Madkour (2006). At the end of the research, it is concluded that the usage of Hamzah Wasl dan Qath' is the highest errors in the frequent list. Thus, teachers should play an important role to make sure that the students undertand this grammatical rule. This is important to avoid the errors repeat every time when they write an essay.

Bronfenbrenner's (1977; 1986; 1994) Ecology of Human Development Theory has placed a few groups o... more Bronfenbrenner's (1977; 1986; 1994) Ecology of Human Development Theory has placed a few groups of people in the microsystem level (the innermost circle) to have influence on the development of a person. This paper puts forth a proposition of altering the groups of people in conjunction with globalization. This is so due to the movement of people to other countries in the pursuance of knowledge. Through a qualitative paradigm, the data from a study on the international students' English language learning experiences show that for these students, the groups of people who have been helpful in their quest to learn the English language are their friends, teachers/lecturers, other international students and even anyone who is able to converse in the English language. The interviews and online postings of 9 international students studying in Malaysia reveal that the family members, who have been rated as playing the biggest role in the development of a person in Bronfenbrenner's theory, are considered as 'unhelpful' in the students' journey to learn the English language. Thus, globalisation is a phenomenon that can bring in various elements that might cause alterationexpansion to even a long withstanding theory. This brings only richness to the education world.

Students who learn Arabic as a foreign language in a foreign country usually face difficulties to... more Students who learn Arabic as a foreign language in a foreign country usually face difficulties to achieve proficiency in the language. This is primarily because of the lack of Arabic language resources. However, this situation does not hinder the emergence of a group of outstanding students who achieve fluency in Arabic by using their own methods. This study investigated the methods used by these students to be used as a guideline for other students. To collect the data, a set of questionnaire was developed from the Imitation Strategy Instrument introduced by Rosni Samah (2014). The questionnaires were distributed to 50 outstanding final year students from the Arabic language department, Faculty of Major Languages, Islamic Science University of Malaysia. The results showed that effective strategies for learning Arabic language as a foreign language were gathering, enhancing and applying. The targets are new vocabulary and sentence. The tools to perform the strategies were Arabic materials and language activities. This study recommends that in learning Arabic language as a foreign language, the three methods mentioned above should be applied. The Arabic materials should be provided and language activities should be organized. The effective methods used by outstanding students should be used as a guideline for other students to be more proficient in Arabic Language.

Pendebat bahasa Arab di peringkat sekolah menengah kebangsaan merupakan pelajar yang petah bertut... more Pendebat bahasa Arab di peringkat sekolah menengah kebangsaan merupakan pelajar yang petah bertutur dalam bahasa Arab. Mereka memperolehi kemahiran bertutur melalui sesi latihan debat yang dijalankan di sekolah. Sesi tersebut diajar oleh guru jurulatih debat dengan menggunakan pendekatan tersendiri bagi mencapai kepetahan bertutur. Tujuan kajian ini ialah untuk mengenal pasti apakah pendekatan pengajaran kemahiran bertutur yang digunakan oleh guru jurulatih debat bahasa Arab dalam membimbing pendebat petah bertutur bahasa Arab. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti aktiviti-aktiviti yang selalu dilakukan oleh guru jurulatih debat dalam pendekatan pengumpulan perkataan dan ayat, pendekatan pengukuhan dan pendekatan aplikasi. Bagi mendapatkan data, kajian ini menggunakan borang soal selidik yang mengandungi tiga pendekatan tersebut. Borang tersebut diedar kepada 34 orang guru pelatih debat di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama, Sekolah Agama Bantuan Kerajaan dan Kelas Aliran Agama pilihan. Hasil dapatan menunjukkan guru jurulatih debat selalu menggunakan kesemua aktiviti yang dinyatakan dalam ketiga-tiga pendekatan. Antara aktiviti yang mendapat min tertinggi dalam mengumpul perkataan dan ayat ialah mencari makna perkataan baharu dalam subjek bahasa Arab melalui kamus Arab-Melayu. Dalam pengukuhan perkataan dan ayat pula, aktiviti yang mendapat min tertinggi ialah membetulkan kesilapan bahasa yang dilakukan oleh pelajar. Dalam aplikasi perkataan dan ayat pula antara aktiviti yang mendapat min tertinggi ialah menyuruh pelajar menterjemah ayat atau perkataan yang tidak difahami dan menyuruh mereka membuat ayat pendek. Kajian ini mencadangkan supaya pendekatan pengumpulan perkataan dan ayat, pengukuhan serta aplikasi hendaklah digunakan dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran bahasa Arab di sekolah menengah untuk meningkatkan pencapaian kemahiran bertutur dalam kalangan pelajar.

Students who learn Arabic as a foreign language in a foreign country usually face difficulties to... more Students who learn Arabic as a foreign language in a foreign country usually face difficulties to achieve proficiency in the language. This is primarily because of the lack of Arabic language resources. However, this situation does not hinder the emergence of a group of outstanding students who achieve fluency in Arabic by using their own methods. This study investigated the methods used by these students to be used as a guideline for other students. To collect the data, a set of questionnaire was developed from the Imitation Strategy Instrument introduced by Rosni Samah (2014). The questionnaires were distributed to 50 outstanding final year students from the Arabic language department, Faculty of Major Languages, Islamic Science University of Malaysia. The results showed that effective strategies for learning Arabic language as a foreign language were gathering, enhancing and applying. The targets are new vocabulary and sentence. The tools to perform the strategies were Arabic materials and language activities. This study recommends that in learning Arabic language as a foreign language, the three methods mentioned above should be applied. The Arabic materials should be provided and language activities should be organized. The effective methods used by outstanding students should be used as a guideline for other students to be more proficient in Arabic Language.

Pendebat bahasa Arab di peringkat sekolah menengah kebangsaan merupakan pelajar yang petah bertut... more Pendebat bahasa Arab di peringkat sekolah menengah kebangsaan merupakan pelajar yang petah bertutur dalam bahasa Arab. Mereka memperolehi kemahiran bertutur melalui sesi latihan debat yang dijalankan di sekolah. Sesi tersebut diajar oleh guru jurulatih debat dengan menggunakan pendekatan tersendiri bagi mencapai kepetahan bertutur. Tujuan kajian ini ialah untuk mengenal pasti apakah pendekatan pengajaran kemahiran bertutur yang digunakan oleh guru jurulatih debat bahasa Arab dalam membimbing pendebat petah bertutur bahasa Arab. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti aktiviti-aktiviti yang selalu dilakukan oleh guru jurulatih debat dalam pendekatan pengumpulan perkataan dan ayat, pendekatan pengukuhan dan pendekatan aplikasi. Bagi mendapatkan data, kajian ini menggunakan borang soal selidik yang mengandungi tiga pendekatan tersebut. Borang tersebut diedar kepada 34 orang guru pelatih debat di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama, Sekolah Agama Bantuan Kerajaan dan Kelas Aliran Agama pilihan. Hasil dapatan menunjukkan guru jurulatih debat selalu menggunakan kesemua aktiviti yang dinyatakan dalam ketiga-tiga pendekatan. Antara aktiviti yang mendapat min tertinggi dalam mengumpul perkataan dan ayat ialah mencari makna perkataan baharu dalam subjek bahasa Arab melalui kamus Arab-Melayu. Dalam pengukuhan perkataan dan ayat pula, aktiviti yang mendapat min tertinggi ialah membetulkan kesilapan bahasa yang dilakukan oleh pelajar. Dalam aplikasi perkataan dan ayat pula antara aktiviti yang mendapat min tertinggi ialah menyuruh pelajar menterjemah ayat atau perkataan yang tidak difahami dan menyuruh mereka membuat ayat pendek. Kajian ini mencadangkan supaya pendekatan pengumpulan perkataan dan ayat, pengukuhan serta aplikasi hendaklah digunakan dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran bahasa Arab di sekolah menengah untuk meningkatkan pencapaian kemahiran bertutur dalam kalangan pelajar.

Ia muncul semula dalam sastera moden hasil daripada perjuangan tokoh-tokoh reformasi Islam untuk dijadikan sastera sebagai wasilah dakwah. Tujuan kajian ini ialah untuk mengenal pasti kemunculan pemikiran sastera Islam, tokoh pelopor dan perdebatan definisi. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan pemikirannya muncul sekitar 50-an dekad lalu melalui laungan tokoh-tokoh reformasi Islam yang terkenal, iaitu Abu Hassan al-Nadawi, Sayyid Qutub, M. Qutub, Raf’at Basha dan Imaduddin Khalil. Definisi ini telah diperdebatkan dan mencapai kemantapannya. Definisi ini boleh diaplikasikan dalam menilai bahan sastera di Malaysia.

Pelajar yang cemerlang bahasa mempunyai strategi tersendiri yang diamalkannya. Ibnu Khaldun membincangkan beberapa pendekatan dan juga kaedah bagi membina kemahiran bahasa. Tujuan kertas ini ialah mengemukakan strategi yang dibina berdasarkan pandangan Ibnu Khaldun dan juga amalan pelajar-pelajar cemerlang. Strategi ini juga telah dibuktikan oleh penyelidik-penyelidik bahasa sebelum ini tentang kejayaannya. Diharapkan agar ia dapat diamalkan oleh pelajar bahasa dan menjadi panduan kepada mereka.
