The level of severity of the drug addiction and juvenile crime in Sindh-province of Pakistan requires the joint efforts and struggle from parents, social science researchers and members of society in order to recognize and eliminate such fatal behaviors among adolescents, which are building the blocks of any society. This is a theoretical study-designed to review the parental control, and analyze the impact of parental control with drug addiction and juvenile delinquency. Parental Acceptance-Rejection, Parental Control And Juvenile Delinquency In Youth: An Analytic Study Of Hyderabad And Karachi

The sample was comprised of juvenile delinquents (n=100), and normal adolescents (n=100). A sample of juvenile delinquents was randomly selected from Juvenile Jail, Central Jail Hyderabad and Central Jail Karachi. PARQ/Control Questionnaire (Imam, 1999) and Self-reported Delinquency Scale (Naqvi, 2007) were administered on the sample. Participants of the study were interviewed as well as scales were administered individually and questions were read out for delinquents. Normal adolescents filled questionnaires by themselves. It was hypothesized that there would be significant differences between the scores of Juvenile delinquents and normal adolescents on parental acceptance-rejection questionnaire (PARQ/Control scale); juvenile delinquents would score high on Self –reported Delinquency scale as compared to normal adolescents. Drug addiction is a Psycho-social problem in Pakistan and all over the world which cause not only... more Drug addiction is a Psycho-social problem in Pakistan and all over the world which cause not only self-destructive activities in its users but also has raised antisocial activities in the society. Present study was designed to study the socialization trait and antisocial behavior between drug addicts and normal adolescents in Sindh Pakistan. A sample of 100 participants comprising of (N-50) drug addicts and (N-50) normal adolescents was administered Urdu Version of So (Socialization) Scale of CPI ((Ahmed, 1986). Data was collected from "Umeed Goth" Drug habilitation center in District Sanghar (Sindh, Pakistan). A sample of drug addicts was taken using purposive non-probability sampling technique and an independent sample of adolescents was taken using simple random sampling technique. Methodology: Retrospective review of records of 2012 women who received PPIUD at Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences Jamshoro from August 2014 to July 2016. Sample was selected using non probability convenient sampling technique and included all the women who were offered PPIUCD during the above given period. Demographic and reproductive information was recorded. Women’s satisfaction with PPIUCD and problems related to it were noted at 6 weeks follow up. Data was analyzed using SPSS v 16. Results: During given time 27,180 women were delivered and 8,003 women were counseled for PPIUCD out of which 2,012 patients agreed for PPIUCD. Acceptance rate for PPIUCD was 25.1%. The present study was conducted to examine the relationship between intrinsic religiosity and att... more The present study was conducted to examine the relationship between intrinsic religiosity and attitudes towards harsh punishment to criminals. Sample of the study consisted of 171 university students (n=171, males, n=86; females, n=85). The age ranged from 19-22 years (Mean age=20.76 yrs). Two questionnaires namely Punishment Attitude Scale (PAS) and Extrinsic–Intrinsic Religiosity Questionnaire (EIRQ) were administered on the sample. It was hypothesized that intrinsically motivated participants would favour punishment to criminals more than the extrinsic oriented participants. There would be significant gender differences in the attitudes towards punishment to criminals. Findings revealed non-significant gender differences in the attitude towards harsh punishment to criminals. Intrinsically religious participants favoured harsh punishment to criminals more than the extrinsic oriented participants.
