This study aims to understand the way in which regulatory mechanisms work to guarantee harmonious living together in Grand-Lahou and and Daoukro. Using tools such as observation and an interview guide, this study aims to make the multiplicity of action methods, decision-making processes, individual and collective strategies and the systems of constraints constraints. On this basis, the main results of the study the reactivation of intra-ethnic boundaries of the Avikam sub-groups of Grand-Lahou is a mechanism for mitigating intra-community tensions around the SICOR plot and that the compromises and social adjustments between ethnic groups in Daoukro guarantee social peace.

The study reveals the permanence of the social representation of a plot of land at the centre of tensions and conflicts as a common good exclusively held by the rural communities of Avikam of Grand-Lahou. This is despite the absence of customary rights over this area in reference to the state norms in force. The data was obtained through documentary analysis, direct observation and individual semi-directive interviews. The results show that the eponymous ancestors are immaterial actors in land governance of the target populations on the one hand. And on the other hand, intra-lineage solidarity as a structuring element of the representation of land at the centre of the conflict as an exclusive common exclusive common good. The results as a whole show integrative properties, namely the protection of rights, the balance of status and position, the attenuation of tensions and conflicts regulation of the balance of power between competing categories over land.

Sociology, as a matrix for the development of the discipline’s scientific discourse and approach,... more Sociology, as a matrix for the development of the discipline’s scientific discourse and approach, imposes norms and principles guiding its practice. This, both within and outside of a system of intermediation between the academic world and the social universe, and in this present case the “Boutique des Sciences” (BdS), a francophone science shop. This text, which draw on a qualitative study, contributes to this issue from a methodological and epistemological perspective. On the one hand, it shows how the experimentation of BdS promotes the involvement in the research process of rural Avikam communities opposed to the private agro-industrial SICOR (Société Ivoirienne de Coco Râpé) around issues of access to an agricultural space. On the other hand, it reveals forms of epistemic resistance of these local communities in the dynamics of resolving the conflict situation.
