BACKGROUND: Schizophrenia is characterized by being a condition with complex symptomatic dimensio... more BACKGROUND: Schizophrenia is characterized by being a condition with complex symptomatic dimensions. Its prognosis is poor due to the impairment of multiple cognitive functions, which handicaps the adequate social, academic, or employment reintegration of the patient. Cognitive impairment refers to the loss of cognitive functions, specifically memory, attention, and speed of information processing. A wide range of cognitive functions is affected, particularly memory, attention, motor skills, executive function, and intelligence. METHODS: This study is a multivariate predictive conceptual framework study with a cross-sectional approach to 120 subjects at the Prof. Dr. M Ildrem Mental Hospital Medan in May 2020–July 2020 using a sample that is a consecutive sampling. Aim To evaluate and assess knowledge and perception, as well as factors related to the occurrence... more Aim To evaluate and assess knowledge and perception, as well as factors related to the occurrence of anxiety among frontliners, especially resident doctors working in emergency room (ER). Methods This multivariate study was conducted with cross-sectional approach involving 80 eligible subjects (based on inclusion and exclusion criteria) that are consecutively assigned and assessed with GAD-7 questionnaire. The study was held in ER of Universitas Sumatera Utara affiliated teaching hospital from May to August 2020. Results Our study found that variables such as nuptial status (p=0.032), seniority level (p=0.037), history of direct exposure to COVID-19 patients (p=0.001) and weekly work duration(p=0.002) were all statistically significant to correlate with the occurrence of anxiety among resident doctors assigned to work in ER. This study was cross-sectional approach using a one-way ANOVA welch test and to find a correlation between serum IL-2 levels with PANSS score in the Batak tribe patients with schizophrenia which is conducted in Prof. Dr. M. Ildrem Psychiatric Hospital Medan and Dr. Pirngadi General Hospital Medan from September 2019-November 2019. Subjects of untreated were 55 subjects and treated in the Batak tribe patients with schizophrenia were 55 subjects and healthy control were 55 subjects. There were significant differences between these three groups using post hoc Games-Howell test on the value of p<0.001 and also been found there was a significant correlation between serum IL-2 levels with PANSS score in the Batak trib...
