YOPP is a flagship activity of the Polar Prediction Project (PPP), a 10year (2013-22) WMO/WWRP initiative. Seventeen nations contributed to greatly enhanced observations during the SOP-primarily from radiosondes and drifting buoys.

Potential factors involved in veterinary professionals' reluctance to seek help include stigma toward mental ill-health, practical barriers to accessing supports, and a cultural normalization of symptoms in the industry. This preliminary study sought to explore these factors in a sample of veterinarians, veterinary nurses, and veterinary technicians and examine effects of gender, years' experience, and practice location. A total of 408 veterinary professionals working in Australia and New Zealand completed an online survey between June and December 2021 measuring perceived stigma, practical barriers to mental health help-seeking, perceptions of normalized psychopathology and sickness presenteeism. Results indicated moderate levels of both perceived stigma and barriers to mental health help-seeking....

It is therefore important to identify the mental health outcomes of such disaster in order for such help to target culturally appropriate interventions for these populations. Objective The objectives of this literature review were to identify and describe the mental health outcomes, interventions, and resilience or coping skills of survivors following natural disasters - namely earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis and floods -across different cultural settings. Methods Due to the small number of studies identified, a narrative approach was employed to compile the data. Results Twelve studies were identified for this review and PTSD was the most common mental health outcome identified. Even though there were some differences in resilience and coping strategies of natural disaster ...

This paper provocatively argues the case for “why now, and how.” The COVID-19 pandemic demonstrated that psychology must contribute more to the wellbeing of local and global communities. We propose that a primary mechanism for doing so is by reinventing the undergraduate psychology program. This paper provides a stimulus to initiate international discussion of interconnected graduate capabilities, which we propose to be: Knowledge, Research Methods, Application of Knowledge to Personal, Professional and Community (Local, National, Global) Domains, Values and Ethics, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Cultural Responsiveness. Focusing on core aspects of psychology (Knowledge, Research Methods, Application) and more generic but evidence-informed capabilities is a unique formulation and should well serve graduates, employers, society, and the ...

Covidence systematic review methodology yielded 112 papers that were scored on 23 specific criteria/questions relevant to addressing predetermined research questions. PL has been conceptualized as both a general capability (e.g., ethical application of psychological knowledge) and a group of capabilities (discipline-specific knowledge and research methods, and more generic capabilities such as communication). Variability in the constellation of group capabilities has led to challenges in operationalization and thus measurement, signaling the need for international consensus and improved measurement. We propose a model for how PL is related to psychologically literate citizenship and global citizenship. Key papers explore PL as an integrative conc...

Only 2% of countries are on track to achieve the desired outcomes for the sustainable development goal (SDG 14) for the oceans by 2030, and the changes needed to prevent further degradation, or limit the impact of existing degradation, are not being undertaken fast enough. This paper uses a socio-ecological lens to explore the nature of actors and behaviours for change at the local, community, state, national and international levels, and introduces the need for technology, information- and knowledge-sharing, and policy as interconnected mediators, that work both in concert, and independently, to address the ‘super wicked’ problem of ocean health and to promote resilience. We recommend the need to develop transformational teams and leaders, as well as transformative policies within a holistic and integrated system to en...

Our Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) IPP placement has been sustained over 7 years and offers medical, pharmacy and nursing students a successful IPP opportunity where all students engage in resident reviews. We also designed an IPP activity involving a larger number of disciplines dealing with the management of chronic pain. The initial workshop for this was rated very favourable by all participating students and the patients rated highly the multi-week program that was led by exercise physiology (EP). However, non-EP student engagement after the initial workshop was poor in this longitudinal IPP opportunity. We are still trying to determine if this was because the patient clinical setting is skewed to one discipline’s role, or if the longitudinal nature inte...
