For monitoring the delivery process, a capacitor was built in the protective layer of the tubular structure, the variation of concentrations being revealed by electrical relative permittivity change. The presented device can be easily adaptable to various fields of applications used in medicine, engineering, chemistry, biology, food processing and in water supply systems.

Over time, multiple concepts have been designed and presented, each of them introducing different detection and warning methods. This paper presents an upgrade for the classic long cane used by the visually impaired. The design will provide the user with additional information about the surrounding environment, thus increasing the user's awareness and safety level. The module will be able to detect obstacles 4 meters in front of the user at lover body level and 2 meters at upper body level with the help of ultrasonic sensors. Another feature of the device is to signal the user's presence and intentions by powering up an array of LEDs in low light environments or when the cane is positioned parralel to the ground.

The study is conducted to find a good-performance and costeffective electric generator topology for micro-wind power application. The proposed double-sided two-stators-one-rotor AFPM synchronous generator with non-overlapping concentrated slotless-stator-winding and ironless PM-rotor disk could be the machine of choice in grid-connected or stand-alone small-scale wind energy conversion systems.

This is part of an extended study, which contains an algorithm for computing all the statistical and reliability indicators used in the design and analysis of electric motors and also the general system which include these types of motors. The general system is composed by a photovoltaic panel for power supplying, the charger and the battery module, the control module and the motor part of the system. The present paper emphasizes the FMEA analysis, considering the usual faults which might occur in the running of the mentioned electric motors. Thus, the influences of constructive elements of a motor on its reliability are computed (mode percentage); the prediction of the number of occurrences of a fault during the maximal running period of a motor, the analysis of risk level for small and medium electric motors and determining critical values for the motor's elements (mode criticality).

So, in the surveillance system where the use of video cameras for tracking is needed for the objects in movement, the stereo vision gives the advantage of obtaining some important pieces of information regarding the area of interest. This work presents a low cost system of tracking 2D, in real time, an object by using stereo vision techniques. The application is made in the LabVIEW programming language (National Instruments) and proposes algorithms for the detection, tracking and 3D depth estimation of one object in movement within the surveillance area.

This paper proposes a data acquisition system based on a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) for voltage and current monitoring in a DC circuit. Two interfacing methods are presented. The first method consists of interfacing the system by means of a specialized graphical terminal. The second method is realized by connecting the system to a PC terminal trough the serial RS-232 interface.

Continuous use of transportation, prolonged periods of physical inactivity and obesity modify the normal structure of the foot in time leading to traumatic disorders. Correctly assessing the plantar pressure and identifying potential problems due to the unbalance of the foot structure are key factors in preventing and treating of conditions such as flat feet, high arches, bunions, hammertoes, plantar fasciitis etc. The research leading to this paper addresses these issues and a low cost computer aided optical podoscope is presented. With the use of modern computational systems, patient information can be analyzed, stored and compared and visual pressure points can be linked to accurate measurements when body mass and touch areas are known. By combining different illumination techniques the effects of the environment lighting are diminished and the images of the foot interaction with the sensitive surface increase in resolution. Moreover, the pressure information can be separated or connected to the rest of the foot allowing for better visual identification of the static and dynamic foot problems.
