This paper gives a special attention to Abdullah and Islam Hadhari because it links the Mahathir's period to current Najib's leadership. The intension of this paper is to prove that actually these concepts are similar in theory and practice in stressing more on Islam and neo-feudalistic Malay agenda. In fact, Islam Hadhari is ironically a concept created by Mahathir himself to counter the idea of Islamic State from the Islamic party, PAS. Therefore, even after resigning from government, Mahathir's agenda of Asian values is still being practiced. Najib Razak, current Prime Minister, on the other hand intended to promote quality leadership performance for the public and unity among the multiracial Malaysia. Although there are differences in term of the arguments for each of the idea, it is clear that these ideas or philosophies attempt to protect the real agenda of those three leaders which were to protect the political culture of neo-feudalism and ensure the ruling United Malays National Organization (UMNO) and Barisan Nasional (BN) will stay in power. This paper shows the debates between scholars in explaining the ideas and philosophies behind those three concepts in Malaysia's realpolitik.

From the intercultural communication perspective, every culture provides a particular view of leadership communication because each culture has tended to look at certain cultural conceptual artifacts differently. For example, in Asia, the studies on leadership communication tended to focus on Japanese and Korean and there are only a few studies which have used other cultural notions like the ones carried out in Malaysia. Among the challenges faced by the leaders in Malaysia are the ways to remain relevant in light of rapid changes in the country. The priority is, therefore, to be able sustain the impressive achievements made thus far in the rather challenging context of a multi-racial and multi-religious society, especially the need to understand the cultural thinking of the Chinese community after the recent General Election (GE13). This article discusses the Chinese and Western leadership cultures and the roles of Confucian values in leadership communication in East Asia. On the basis of insights gained, a model has been proposed to guide the development of subsequent leadership communication studies, particularly that which involves the Chinese community in Malaysia.

The researcher investigates the nature of 13 state-based Islamic institutional religious websites to discover whether these websites are seen as credible, based on a framework of website credibility. Eight media and communication experts were interviewed. The findings suggest that institutional Islamic religious websites have achieved the authority and objectivity features of website credibility. However, the authority of the websites requires that the accuracy, currency and coverage features are upgraded. This study is timely as it contributes to the fields of internet, communication, and religious studies.

It proposed to do this by testing a structural model. In explicating the relationship between the two constructs, teacher engagement in workplace learning activities and wellbeing
were included in the structural model as plausible mediators. The study used a survey research method to gather data from a sample of 182 beginning teachers in northern peninsular Malaysia. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 16.0 and AMOS 16.0. The findings indicate that the structural model adequately fits
the data. There is a significant indirect influence of socialization factors on the task performance of new teachers, with 81% of the variance explained.

Part of the project is a construction of a future intelligent city named Cyberjaya. This is a utopian city. The dream encompasses constructing working and living spaces for information communication technology professionals and experts from all over the world. Based on an ethnographic approach, this article seeks to explore what happens when utopian ideas are implemented. That is, rather than testing whether or not the dream has become true, the authors investigate the "materiality" of dreamwork in the development of a "planned city." They show that the utopian globalized information communication technology city is built on the principles of zoning, sterility, and security. These principles are at the core of engineering a global community of knowledge workers. The authors argue that the ordering of this particular version of utopia-discursively anchored in a specific hybridization of (hyper)modernity, Malaysian culture, and Islam-has resulted in a proliferation of "nonplaces" that inhibit binding associations and thus prevent the development of a sense of "belonging."

For this purpose, semi-structured interviewing and observation methods were employed. The data were analyzed based on the Five Sentiments Approach (Armenakis, Harris, Cole, Lawrence & Self, 2007a). The findings revealed that there was a high resistance from the teachers and students towards change due to the blatant exam-oriented culture which was still practiced in Malaysian educational institutions.
