Aphra Behn fue una dramaturga de la Restauracion muy popular y de mucho exito, muy prolifica y ta... more Aphra Behn fue una dramaturga de la Restauracion muy popular y de mucho exito, muy prolifica y tan solo por detras de Dryden en produccion dramatica. Esto no significa que estuviera libre de duras criticas por parte de algunos miembros del ambito literario, lo cual –sin duda– ha influido en la recepcion de su obra en siglos posteriores. De hecho, desaparecio del canon literario a partir del siglo XVIII para ser descubierta de nuevo ya en el siglo XX, gracias especialmente a la critica feminista. En este articulo, hemos seleccionado y analizado fragmentos de algunos de los prefacios, prologos y cartas a los lectores que ella escribio y que confirman que, formando parte del canon de la Restauracion, quedo fuera simplemente por el hecho de ser mujer.

Este artículo tiene como objetivo presentar una reflexión sobre la forma en cómo se ha entendido ... more Este artículo tiene como objetivo presentar una reflexión sobre la forma en cómo se ha entendido la Competencia Comunicativa Intercultural (CCI) en los procesos de enseñanza de lengua extranjera. Para lograr dicho cometido, el texto rastrea en principio lo que ha sido la enseñanza de la lengua extranjera en el contexto de ELT [English Language Teaching]. También se hace una reflexión de lo que implicaría llevar la CCI a un escenario de enseñanza de lengua extranjera. Finalmente, se explica cómo se podría entender la CCI en la enseñanza de lengua extranjera a la luz de tres conceptos que presuponen su definición: la comunicación, la lengua y la cultura.

The concept of 'communicative competence', first proposed by Hymes, referred basically to abiliti... more The concept of 'communicative competence', first proposed by Hymes, referred basically to abilities speakers have in their first language. This term, however, was appropriated and reworked (Canale & Swain 1980; van Ek 1986) within the field of foreign language teaching and new approaches or dimensions (sociolingustic, socio-cultural, social, etc.) were added to the original idea. Consequently, the prescriptive model based upon native speaker competence started to be put into question and the replacement of the native speaker by the intercultural speaker as a reference point for the foreign language learner was suggested (Byram & Zarate 1994). Stemming from all these considerations, a model was proposed (Byram 1997) for Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC), involving one step further in communicative competence.

El artículo cruza dos investigaciones en paralelo mediante el estudio de esos temas de los cuatro diarios y cuatro semanarios hispanos más destacados durante seis meses y las portadas de los mismos periódicos que presentan la victoria de Obama, a través de un análisis de pragmaestilística.

The press in Spanish in the United States, of Hispanic observance, played a significant role in the re-election of president Obama in 2012, not as much because they campaigned for that candidate, as due to the treatment given in the months prior to the polls to Hispanic social, economic and political problems. This article crosses two parallel researches by studying these topics in four newspapers and four magazines among the most relevant over six months and the front-pages of these periodicals presenting the victory of Obama, by means of a pragmalinguistic analysis.

ICC is based on the development by the learner of several "savoirs" concerned with attitudes and values, knowledge, skills of interpreting and relating, skills of discovery and interaction and critical cultural awareness. In ICC, students become the centre of the teaching and learning process and the role of teachers should be focused on encouraging autonomous and independent learning skills in their students.

En este artículo analizamos la estrecha relación entre el Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior, el Marco Europeo de las Lenguas y la competencia comunicativa intercultural y mostrar cómo la implementación de la CCI en la enseñanza de una lengua extranjera puede convertirse en una herramienta esencial para conseguir los objetivos del EEES.

When we speak about stage directions in a play we think of those words in italics or in square br... more When we speak about stage directions in a play we think of those words in italics or in square brackets which usually appear in dramatic texts. If we take an Elizabethan play and a contemporary play, the first thing that may draw our attention is the abundance of italics in the latter and its scarcity in the former. In a twentieth-century play these fragments have an almost narrative-descriptive value, as in them we are told where, how, and when the action takes place, the characters are described in detail, not only their appearance, but quite often we are also told everything referring to their feelings and personality, or even events prior to the moment the play starts. These italics are instructions that the author gives for the production and performance of the play in the way he imagines it on writing the text, they are "stage directions", that is to say, instructions for the stage.
