Since 2016 the project has been undertaking excavations, topographic measurements and surveys in and near the Cocal period (AD 1000–1521) archaeological site of Guadalupe located on the northeastern Atlantic coast of Honduras. The aim of the project is to contribute to the investigation of the cultural processes in this little studied region at the frontier between Mesoamerica and the Istmo-Columbian Area.

Northeast Honduras is a little studied region in the interaction sphere of Mesoamerica and Southern Central America. Archaeological excavations in Guadalupe were realized with the aim of enlarging the data base about the settlement history and cultural developments of that region. The unexpected abundance of artifacts will enable us to refine the existing typochronologies of artifacts and will give us new insights into the interregional cultural relations of the late pre-Hispanic period.

It is shown that when the first 4 coefficients in the expansion of the displacement functions corresponding to both period annuli inside the loop vanish, the system becomes integrable with the following three strata in the center manifold: Hamiltonian, reversible in y and reversible in x. In the latter case, the first integral is of Darboux type and we calculate it explicitly. Next we prove that the cyclicity of each of period annuli inside the loop is five and the total cyclicity of both is at most nine. For this, we use Abelian integrals method together with careful study the geometry of the separatrix solutions of related Riccati equations in connection to the second-order Melnikov functions.

The most beautiful and most famous of these buildings is the temple at Chavin de Huantar. Situated at an altitude of 10,500 feet, it is built in stone and richly decorated with relief and carvings, and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1985. With its architecture, with music and visual arts it forged a distinctive world view and is today regarded as the mother culture of the Andes. This new book documents for the first time and comprehensively the findings of an extended archaeological research campaign at Chavin. Essays by leading experts describe concept and layout of the temple and highlight its importance. The essays are illustrated with photographs, drawings, plans and maps. The catalogue section pr...
