It’s potential as a dietary supplement in sports nutrition and its effect on regulating lipid profile has never been investigated. Spirulina (Arthrospira platensis) is a superfood with high nutritional value and is a popular supplement among athletes. In the current study, Spirulina and Khejri were used as supplements by cricket players to improve their physical fitness and lipid profile. Both supplements were given to individual groups and in combination to see the combined effect. The intervention period was 21 days, and supplements were given in 500 mg doses daily. Lipid profile assessments were done before and after the intervention period. 40 cricket players were divided into 4 groups: Group 1 (n = 10): Both supplements, Spirulina and Khejri, Group 2 (n = 10): Supplement Spirulina, Group 3 (n = 10): Supplement Khejri, and Group 4 (n = 10): Control. When experimental groups 1, 2 and 3...

The plant has been known for its curative properties and has been utilized for treatment of various diseases such as ulcer, bronchitis, jaundice, ulitis, fever, hyper dyspepsia, arthritis and alimentary disorders. A survey of the literature shows extracts and metabolites from this plant possess pharmacological properties such as anti–inflammatory, antiulcer, aphrodisiac, alexipharmic, anthelmintic, antibacterial, and free radical scavenging activity. Beside medicinal uses, plant has high economic value due to its edible and nutritive fruit, useful wood, latex and bark and provides substantial livelihood support to local inhabitants. A wide range of chemical compounds including sterols, starch, terpenoids, anthraquinone glycoside, cardi...

Seasonal variations have a direct impact upon the occurrence and growtir of algal species in an aquatic ecosystem. During the study, different blocks of Keoladeo National Park were analysed. It was observed that Keoladeo lake was very condusive to the growth of algal population but it showed ftequent algal blooms which stands a testimony to the fact that water is highly rich in nutrients. Number of members of chlorophytes were slightly more as compared to other algal classes.
