_9:09 pm_[chi_mangetsu] Otakon 08 Notes ADV Rumors:As you may or may not have heard here or elsewhere, one of ADV's major backers backed out of business with them and they as well as fourty-something titles were picked up by FUNimation. ADV isn't doomed as Geneon was last year close to this time, so expel those thoughts from your mind post haste!Aforementioned aquisition:http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2008-07-04/funimation-picks-up-over-30-former-ad-vision-titlesStreet Fighter IV:Taliesin Jaffe, acclaimed director of such series as ROD the TV, Hellsing, Hellsing Ultimate, and BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad is the Director for the English Dub of SFIV! He is also the voice of Blanka, everyone's favorite high-voltage green mutant, and the lovely and fantastically frenetic Laura Bailey is the voice of Chun Li! Also Michelle Ruff will be voicing the badass new female addition to the cast, Crimson Viper!Stay tuned for more! Current Mood: exhausted (7 Comments |Comment on this)

_3:29 pm_[chi_mangetsu] Square-Enix's The Last Remnant - FUNimation VAs! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsS7EaWvkbQNotice that the main character, Rush Sykes, is quite obviously Johnny Yong Bosch, the Conqueror is Chris Sabat, and the big bad with the creepy glowing eye is Christopher Ayres. I'm not certain, but a random character seemed to be voiced by Greg Ayres. Could be wrong, but it sounded like him. Give it a watch, take a careful listen, and maybe you can guess who some of the others are! I have an inkling that one of the female characters may be voiced by the ever prolific Laura Bailey, but again, I'm not sure. Also, sorry for neglecting this place! I hope to be able to check in more often. Worth mentioning as well, I'm on staff for Otakon, so that should be pretty awesome. I'll be working in Panels moving stuff and setting up; I've done that a few times before I ever started staffing at cons, so I'm definitely looking forward to it! Anyway, that's enough rambling! Watch the gorram video! XD Current Mood: content (1 Comment |Comment on this)

_5:13 pm_[hystericblue42] Bang Zoom!! Hey, everybody! With permission from the maintainer/moderator of this community, I am letting you all know about the new community I just created here on LiveJournal![](https://l-stat.livejournal.net/img/community.gif?v=556&v=801)bang_zoom is the new official community of Bang Zoom! Entertainment & Studios. The user info pretty much says it all, but just to give a little introduction, Bang Zoom is one of the premiere recording and sound production studios for English language versions of anime. Some of your favorite voice actors (like Crispin Freeman, Tony Oliver, Lex Lang, Johnny Yong Bosch, Wendee Lee) have done countless voices for Bang Zoom! shows.I made this community, with support from the President and staff of Bang Zoom. Even though it's just started, we really want to use it to connect with anime fans, to find out what they think of our work, what we can do to make it better, and what fans want to see or, rather, hear more of in the future. Plus, it's a place to get news and info on Bang Zoom titles, as well as a discussion board among other fans.New posts will be moderated, but anybody can join. Add us to your friends list, and please tell your anime-loving friends! You have a lot to look forward to!Amy, aka hystericblue42Moderator and Maintainer of bang_zoomCurrent Mood: excited (2 Comments |Comment on this)

_3:37 am_[starbuck09] Thoughts For Hope Hey guys! I'm writing this entry to see if I can get any of your help with a project that I'm working on. I've just recently created a new relief group, Thoughts For Hope, in order to raise money and gather food/clothes/bedding, etc. for the victims of Katrina. Not a lot of people realize that even afte 6 months after the disaster, the people down south are still in dire need of help. So, please, if you're interested, check out my site:redphoenix.tripod.com/thoughtsforhope/These people don't have much, if any, hope for their future right now. One person can make a difference, but it helps if they have people backing them up. Which is why I'm asking you, if you have any spare change, or old clothes/bedding/towels/appliances or canned food, anything that you think they could use, to please let me know! Get in touch with me any way you can! There are thousands of people who need to know that they're thought of, that help is on it's way, and that we are willing to do what we can. Thanks! _12:00 pm_[chi_mangetsu] OMG UPDATE! X3 You'd think I'd be better about updating my own community. ~_~;;Ugh.Well it's good to see this place didn't completely dieOhayocon 6!The site's temporarily out of service--it usually is taken down around this time of year for uphulls on guest listings and the like (I knew I should've booked my hotel room earlier in the year!)--but if there are any otakus in the midwest area (read: anywhere near Ohio) get your butts to Columbus from the 6th-8th of January! LORD IL PALAZZO COMMANDS IT!I can't guarantee any certain VAs will be there, but it's a pretty safe bet to assume our good buddy Greg Ayres will be there, so look forward to it!Also within Columbus-related topics, RedvsBlue founder and master mind Burnie Burns was in the area recently meeting fans and the general geekdom populace.I was one of the ones fortunate enough to meet him, as you can see from this tasteful display.I've also been molested by Monica Rial while wearing that shirt and plan on wearing it well into Ohayocon 6 and be molested by many other a dropped name. X3See you there!OH! And I almost forgot. Before you go and while you are there...BATHE!The kittens will thank you. ;_;=O! Current Mood: awoken (4 Comments |Comment on this)
