on developing the creative thinking skills of high-achieving students through a case
study of an individual high-achiever. The study sample consisted of an individual
high-achiever female student, in the 10th grade, studying at one of the schools in the
United Arab Emirates during the academic year 2015-2016. She was purposely
selected, as she was a high-achiever. The tools used in the study included: Torrance
Tests of Creative Thinking (TTCT)- Verbal Form A, which had a high level of
reliability and validity as checked by the researcher; and CoRT 1 entitled "Breadth".
The researcher collected the required data about the sample through an interview,
applied Verbal TTCT -Form A as a pretest, then started implementing CoRT1. After
that, Verbal TTCT Form A was applied again as a post-test, and the means of both
pre and post tests were compared.
The findings of the study showed that there was an effect of CoRT (1) on developing
the creative thinking skills of the individual high-achieving student - which include
fluency, flexibility, and originality- as well as on the total score of the test. There was
a difference between the means of the pre and post tests in fluency, flexibility, and
originality, as well as in the total scores of the tests in favor of the post test.
