Weijia Wang is a Ph.D. candidate in Teacher Quality and Teacher Education at the University of Washington. Her research focuses on improving equitable education opportunities for students from historically marginalized communities through social justice teacher education. Her ongoing research includes a policy network analysis of stakeholder engagement in teacher education policy-making process. Weijia is a strong advocate of student engagement and professional development. She is currently serving as the Chair of the AERA Graduate Student Council. Back at home, she is the chair of Associated Students of the College of Education at the UW and the recipient of the Education Student Leadership Award. She aims to engage student educational researchers around the world in conversations about meaningful research and scholarship and innovative practices to promote diversity and equity in education in this changing time at AERA meetings and beyond in the capacity of the GSC Chair.
