Stress can cause physical problems such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease, metabolic disorders, irritable bowel syndrome, and psychological issues such as depression, anxiety, emotional disturbances, and a loss of empathy for others. In hospitals, healthcare workers include doctors (Physicians), nurses, paramedical staff and administrative staff. Since all are related to healthcare and all have to work together daily day for the same objective with the same environment even at this pandemic, researchers tried to find out the factors responsible for such stress generation of healthcare workers.

Aims: In this research paper, we want to determine the stress level of frontline health workers during the covid-19 situation concerning the type of job, experience, class, age, qualification, gender, marital status and location.

Methodology: The study was conducted in Kolkata and Delhi and collected data from 404 respondents (203 responses from Kolkata and 201 responses from Delhi) through the cluster sampling method. Researchers applied Multinomial Logistic Regression, which was ideal statistics to perform the analysis of the collected data. The investigation is being undertaken with the help of the Multinomial Logistic Regression Technique applying SPSS Software.

Results: The study findings suggested that out of a total of 8 independent variables, four were statistically significant (Value <.05). These were experience, class, age and location, whereas it showed that the other four variables –type, qualification, gender and marital status were insignificant (Value >.05).

Conclusion: The study’s objective was to identify the stress level of healthcare workers during this pandemic situation based on type, nature of the job, gender-wise, class, marital status, qualification, age, location wise even. With all probabilities, such a comprehensive study may not be available in the Indian context. The researchers explained all these aspects in their study. The research work was unique because it gave an idea about healthcare workers in this pandemic situation. The study’s outcome could be useful for both the government and healthcare decision makers in the future regarding infrastructural development, analysis of workload of healthcare workers, safety and security aspects of the healthcare workers.
