Sega has swept the board at the prestigious Edge 2001 awards, announced on April 18. Of the gaming magazine's nine prize categories, Sega won a stunning six and were runners-up in the three others.

Phantasy Star Online's amazing graphics, gameplay and innovation helped it scoop the Game of the Year and top prize for Technical Achievement, while the great cartoon-style graphics and thumping choons of Jet Set Radio were also recognised.
MSR's realism almost clinched it an award for Graphical Achievement, while Sonic Team and Sega itself were prize winners. There was also some maraca-shaking going on for Samga de Amigo's prize for innovation.
