Miscellaneous Tips for the Budding Activist

This is the part of the organizing guide that will most likely get censored by the SEAC elite in their attempts to suppress the truth (and, more critically, keep this guide short). But here are some activist tips that dont fit well in the rest of the book.

Electronic Activism
While you cannot solve the worlds problems by sitting in front of a computer all day, there is much that can be done with technology. Beyond creating a webpage and an email mailing list for your group, area, or region, there are a couple other things you can do. With an Internet connection (and some software that you can get for free), you can use IRC (Internet relay chat) to hold on-line conversations with other activists. You can even do free Internet conference calls! Also you can use an instant messenger program to see which of your activist friends are online and to share ideas and information. This is particularly useful for people who are constantly online. Both are ways of building (yes it seems paradoxical) electronic community.
