February 2, 2005 -- Former Bronx Borough President Fernando Ferrer has snagged two more endorsements for his third mayoral run.

State Sen. Carl Kruger (D-Brooklyn) said yesterday that Ferrer is a visionary who "has a clear and experienced understanding of the issues that are foremost on the minds of New Yorkers throughout the five boroughs."

Manhattan Assemblyman Steven Sanders (D-Manhattan) also threw his weight behind Ferrer yesterday. He said Ferrer is "head and shoulders above all the other candidates who'd all make great mayors."

Yesterday's endorsements came on the heels of that of Councilman Lew Fidler (D-Brooklyn), who represents the same Mill Basin and Flatlands community as Kruger.

Other Democrats seeking to unseat Mayor Bloomberg include Manhattan Borough President C. Virginia Fields, Rep. Anthony Weiner and Councilman Charles Barron (D-Brooklyn). Frankie Edozien
