Australian Fieldwork in Egypt

This is a short list of current Australian fieldwork projects in Egypt. Excavations by foreign missions in Egypt do not take unskilled volunteers. If you are seeking fieldwork opportunities, other countries in the Middle East, such as Jordan and Israel, have openings for interested individuals. In Australia, contact the Near Eastern Archaeology Foundation (see elsewhere in these pages) for information about fieldwork at Pella in Jordan and Uzbekistan in Central Asia, and Archaeological Diggings Magazine about projects in Israel. Other sources include overseas magazines such as "Archaeology" and the Web site of the Israel Antiquities Authority.
