Directions
- Take the level path from the back of the car park, and go through the trees, with a stream down to the left.
- Cross the stream by a bridge in 150 metres, and go left on the path to reach a quiet lane by stone cottages. Go right, and then left at the junction in 100 metres, passing the entrance to Buckton Vale Primary School, and forward to a road junction.
- Go straight across, with care, into the rough lane opposite, and immediately up three steps on the left into woodland. Continue on the footpath for 100 metres to an area of open grass, and follow the path leftwards.
- In 30 metres turn left off the main path back into the woodland and down some steps on to a road.
- Go right for 30 metres, then left through a kissing gate, and along the path past a former mill pond (Duck Island), to another kissing gate on the far side.
- Turn left on the road for 30 metres and through a gap in the wall on the right immediately after a stream crossing. Follow the path through a few trees and across an open grassy area (rising slightly), to the gateway on the far side.
- Turn left on the unmade lane, soon bearing slightly left past the backs of houses to a road. Turn left, go across the junction in a few metres, and down Carr Rise to return to the car park and buses.
