Economic BenefitsRanger is economically beneficial to both NT and Australia employing around 300 permanent employees. Geology & MiningThe Ranger ore bodies were found by a radiometric survey in 1969 and later confirmed by drilling. Ore Treatment PlantExpansion of the plant was completed in 1997 to increase production capacity. New Water Treatment Plant at RangerRanger mine has started a new A$28 million water purification plant that will ensure process and other water reaches drinking water standard before it is released from site to the surrounding environment. Acid PlantSulfuric acid needed for the leaching process in the ore treatment plant is manufactured on site. Electric Power PlantThe Ranger power plant supplies power to the mine and township of Jabiru. |
