Monolithic Icon: Uluru
Uluru
Formerly named Ayers Rock, this massive monolithic sandstone rock covers an area of 3.3 square kilometres, and is 9.4 kilometres around its base. It rises 345 metres above the plains, and is believed to extend several kilometres below the surface.
