Conveniently tucked within the heart of the Appalachian coal-fields of Eastern Kentucky, this ever-growing community of Hazard and Perry County is truly a hidden scenic treasure. One could easily refer to the area as a geographical masterpiece for its abundance in plant-life, natural resources, and river systems.
Founded by Elijah Combs and his seven brothers in 1790, the county and its seat were later named for American naval hero Commodore Oliver-Hazard Perry.
