In June 2000, Volkswagen opened the Autostadt to the public - an entire city of cars built alongside the Volkswagen HQ in Wolfsburg. The �270m, 250,000 square metre complex features pavilions, waterways, bridges, lakes, parks, marketplaces, a train station, streets and lanes, entertainment, world restaurants, and a unique competition and events centre. Guests from all around the world are able to go on a fascinating journey of discovery in this world forum dedicated to the automobile.

Each year, 1.2 m visitors to the Autostadt see at first hand the technology behind Volkswagen's legendary reliability, as well as insights into the plans and visions of one of the world's most significant car makers.
The Group Forum shows how a huge corporation like Volkswagen meets the diverse needs of customers all over the world while still preserving the individuality and innovative thinking that is the mark of every Volkswagen car. Films take visitors through the visionary and technical know-how that has made the company what it is today.
The Marque Pavilions show the many faces of Volkswagen: famous brands like Audi, Seat, Skoda, Lamborghini and Bentley. Each pavilion is a world in its own right, in which the mentality, character and individual design of the specific brand determines the style and content. Technical versatility, creativity and architectural distinction characterize the individual buildings, each of which encourages visitors to enjoy and participate:
The Volkswagen Automuseum presents vintage Volkswagens and other cars in their former glory and offers insights into the first historic years of the 20 Century's most influential technology.
And, at the heart of the Autostadt, on the site where the Beetle first entered mass production, the Customer Centre welcomes new Volkswagen owners to take delivery of up to 1,000 new cars per day.
