But it is highly recommended that travelers from the U.S. and Canada be prepared to present documentation such as a passport, naturalization certificate or birth certificate, accompanied by a drivers license or other form of government-issued identification when reentering the U.S.
Carry-On Update:
TSA rules presently allow small quantities of toiletries to be brought through the security checkpoint. Passengers may bring typical travel items such as shampoo, toothpaste and makeup through security, provided they're in 3-ounce or smaller containers that all fit inside a 1-quart (not larger) clear plastic zip-top bag. Only one bag per passenger is allowed. This is called the 3-1-1 rule. Click on the TSA link below for complete details. The zip-top bag containing the toiletries must be removed from your carry-on luggage and placed in a separate tray prior to screening. Once you have been screened and are on the secure side of the checkpoint, you are allowed to purchase liquids, toiletries, etc. at airport shops and carry them onto the plane.
Visit the Transportation Security Administration's site for details of the 3-1-1 Carry-on Program. - Vist the Federal Aviation Administration for a list of hazardous materials.
