These identification tags belonged to the twelve eldest sons from Yi Ji (李遲) to Yi Seung-mok (李承穆) through ten generations. This kind of identification tag was given to men over sixteen years old by the government from the late Goryeo dynasty onwards; this system continued until the late Joseon dynasty.
