Bioinformatics @ MolGen : BAGEL (original) (raw)

by , , Jetta J.E. Bijlsma, Jan Kok, and Oscar P. Kuipers

BAGEL will determine from a (non annotated) genbank file the presence of bacteriocins based on a database containing information of known bacteriocins and adjacent genes involved in bacteriocin activity.

Data Submission Form

  1. Select genbank file from the list of finished genomes
    OR
  2. Upload a genbank file AND select a reference genome from the finished genome list below. Since uploaded ORF sequences generated by de novo ORF prediction do not contain any functional annotation information, the use of a reference genome allows the user to quickly determine whether a putative bacteriocin encoding ORF has already been annotated in the genome of interest or not. Your data will be stored on our server for up to three weeks and will be kept confidential.
