"International visitors visit New Zeland primarily for our environmental beauty and natural wonders. We are proud supporters of the New Zealand National Parks and Conservation Foundation as they do a fantastic job in aiding the preservation of the environment and the threatened species that live within it." Steve Bayliss General Manager, Marketing |
The New Zealand National Parks and Conservation Foundation:
- manages a private endowment fund
- creates cause-related marketing projects
- attracts sponsorship monies from all levels of business and community
- builds relationships with well organised, highly motivated conservation groups
- drives a media awareness programme to lift the profile of conservation
During the Kathmandu Lizard Conservation survey undertaken by DOC, Puti, a highly trained border terrier, was used to sniff out geckos in wild terrain.
We are the only nation- wide fundraising organisation, endorsed by DOC that links the conservation estate with private individuals, businesses and visitors.
- we invite people in positions of influence to prioritise conservation.
- we promote approved conservation groups and projects to potential sponsors
- we manage funds and allocate them to projects that achieve conservation gains
