Wednesday, 17 June 2009 13:28 The search is continuing for the missing jet skier at Lake Allatoona. Tuesday night a jet ski carrying 3 people apparently hit a submerged tree throwing the riders off of the jet ski. One of the riders was treated at the scene for minor injuries and released. The other rider was taken to the hospital for head injuries. The third rider has yet to be found. Dive teams are on the scene now searching the area of Lake Allatoona where the jet ski crashed. This accident happened well after sunset. You are not to operate a jet ski after sunset according to boating laws. These jet ski riders did not obey boating laws and we are not sure if the missing rider was even wearing a life jacket. A helicopter is searching Lake Allatoona from the air for the missing jet ski rider. More information will be posted when it becomes available. The lake has completely recovered from the drought and is looking very nice for a long summer. |
