Bacteria and Food (original) (raw)
by Alan McLeod
This lecture deals with how bacteria help to feed us - they play many roles, not limited to those in cheese making, yoghurt production and similar. Among other things, they can protect our crops from insects, allow cows to eat grass, make vitamins in our stomachs and provide fertiliser for our soils.
