Spokane's defense came up with four stops Friday night.

August 6th 2010 – Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock advanced to the second round of the playoffs Friday night by defeating the Arizona Rattlers 57-49.

The Shock will host the winner of Saturday night’s game between the Milwaukee Iron and the Chicago Rush. Tickets for the game will go on sale Saturday at noon and can be purchased by contacting TicketsWest.

Spokane’s defense came up with four stops on the night, but none of them were bigger than its last stop late in the fourth quarter.

With Spokane hanging onto an eight point lead, the momentum seemed to be swinging in Arizona’s favor after its defense recovered a Shock fumble. The Rattlers’ offense took over on the Shock 21-yard line. But after four straight incomplete passes by Arizona’s QB Nick Davila, the Rattlers fate was sealed.

Davila completed 58% of his passes for 315 yards with six touchdowns and only one interception. Davila’s interception was recorded by DB Travis Williams with less than 10 seconds left in the first half. The interception proved to be a costly one as K Taylor Rowan nailed a 40-yard field goal as time expired in the first half and gave Spokane a 10 point lead.

Spokane’s offense was led by QB Kyle Rowley who completed 68% of his passes with seven touchdowns and no interceptions. WR Greg Orton led the team with 11 receptions, while WR Markee White led the team in reception yards (66). Orton, White, and WR Huey Whittaker each recorded two touchdowns.

Arizona’s offense was led by WR Rod Windsor who led the team in receptions (15), yards (210) and touchdowns (5).

Next week’s Conference Championship game will be held on Thursday with a 5 PM kickoff on Spokane Tribe Field. Tickets go on sale Saturday at noon and can be purchased by contacting TicketsWest.
