W6TRW Swap meet (original) (raw)

Come to the Swap meet - The Last Saturday of the Month - Come Rain or Come Shine!

History

The W6TRW Swap meet started in the '60's as a "Tail Gate" event and has evolved to the monthly event that it is today. The same basic objective is still around as it was long ago, usually for a ham to gather up his/her old stuff that they no longer need, or perhaps to find something better, or to clear out a garage or ham shack. Computers have become a necessity for many, you'll see lots of computers and parts for sale as well. It is one of the largest continuous running Amateur Swap meets in the country.

When and where is the Swap meet?

The Swap meet is ALWAYS the LAST Saturday of every month, come rain or come shine, even if it falls on a holiday! Starting time is 7:00 am and we close promptly at 11:30 am. The swap meet is located at the corners of Aviation Bl. and Marine Ave. in the city of Redondo Beach, California. We can be found in the parking lot of Northrop Grumman Space Technology. VE sessions

VE sessions are now being offered and take place during each Swap meet in the Cafeteria at 10:00 am. Click here for a map to the VE session and click here for more information about the testing.

Selling at the Swap meet

We are often asked how does one get a space to sell, here are a few basic rules

  1. Items for sale must be Amateur Radio related, (this is a constant enforcement issue) ie. radio equipment and associated parts, computer and related parts, and any other items that are reasonably considered part of the Amateur Radio hobby.
