What did the The New York Public Library get for it's 100th birthday? A $50 million renovation.

The three-year project is finally complete, reports the Associated Press, and now one of New York's most grand and iconic buildings is spic and span for the big day.

So what did the facelift entail?

A crew cleaned all the buildings' white marble and also repaired more than 7,000 areas of deteriorated facade, while the Fifth Ave. building's roof, sculptures and window frames were also restored, according to the AP.

The new facade was unveiled Wednesday and there will be a ceremonial party on the NYPL's actual birthday, May 23rd. The structure was completed in 1911 and is located at Fifth Ave. and 42nd St.
