The Miracles – (Come ‘Round Here) I’m the One You Need (original) (raw)
• Thursday, April 01st, 2010
This is my favourite Miracles track, great singing by Smokey, great harmonies by the other Miracles, and excellent music by Marv Tarplin and The Funk Brothers. Released in 1966, it is quite unique because unlike other Miracles songs which were self composed and self produced, this track was written and produced by Brian Holland and Lamont Dozier. The single peaked at number 17 on the Billboard Hot 100, and at number four on Billboard’s R&B singles chart. It was also a Top 20 hit in England, peaking at number 13.
Also, for those perfectionists out there, this was the last Miracles single before Smokey got top billing.
Enjoy!
