Senior Figure of the National Congress Party (NCP) Dr. El Haj Adam Yousef affirmed government's commitment to resolve Darfur crisis, clarifying that situations allover Darfur are stable currently. He said the issue of 'one region' doesn't represent central demand, affirming importance of not distinguishing Darfur from other states of the country. He rejected proposal of one region, ascribing his rejection to the fact that Darfur cannot be compared with south Sudan. Referring to the issue the office of the VP, Adam rejected demand submitted by armed groups opting for allocating the office of the VP to Darfur, adding that the office must be subject to national standards not regional ones. He called for searching for mechanisms gathering political forces post secession of south Sudan so as to participate in forming constitution preserving the unity of the country. He affirmed that it is no use organizing demonstration in imitation to Tunisia and Egypt, adding that there is no available alternative for the current government, clarifying that Sudanese people haven't burst into streets to overthrow the government because political parties failed in providing convincing programs. El Haj Adam lauded Sudanese people for their historic ability in making events as well as sparking revolution when change is a necessity. |
