14s Grand Progress

Its TimeDay 1

Losing the toss and batting on a wet outfield, our boys were sent in. Whether it was grand final nerves, food bowling, slow outfiled or a combination of all these - we were in big trouble at 6 for 58, with all our big run scorers out.

Best of the top order was Logan McKay who dug in to try and build a competitive score for the team.

The lower order put together a bit of a rall with sensible batting from Anthony Prochillo, Will Guy, Jack Montesano and Faisal Dewan to eventually get us to a score we could bowl at. After 36 overs we were all out for 111.

With 14 overs to bowl, Dan Cunningham and Logan opened the bowling and blasted out 3 of the Abers top order. At stumps the game is delicately poised with Abers 3 for 28. Good tight bowling, good fielding will be needed to give us every chance tomorrw.

Good Luck guys.

12s lose Semi Final but win hearts

Its TimeThe under 12's also batted first in the Semi Final against Aberfeldie.

We only lost 4 wickets but we were not agressive enough with the bat and finished our 28 overs with a score of 74.

Michael Nikoloski was top scorer with 14, and Alex Dimovski made 10 as the only batsman to make double figures.

The boys needed to bowl well, and although we took 7 wickets, Abers reeled in the score with 7 overs left. Another 30 runs from the bat and the match would have been close. Best of the bowlers was Cassius Bulner who took 2 wickets for 10 from 3 overs.

While the boys lost the final, the achievement of the season is not to be understated. All these boys are bottom age Under 12s who qualified to play B grade. In a high grade and with not a lot of experience they pushed to within 1 win of a grand final appearance.

Coming from under 10s where the boys play with flair as they are not afraid to lose their wicket, they come to the under 12 grade where they lose the natural flair due to their fear of going out. Next season with a better understanding of the under 12 format and the need to balance risk with good judgement, the boys will be a 30-50 run better team next season.

The fact we had two under 10s playing in this team and the lack of experience at this level, this team did our club proud.

Well done Vlad and the Boys on a great season for the under 12s.

It's Time

Its TimeAs announced at the Christmas Party, Paul Adami, Chris Dougherty and Sue Montesano are standing down from their positions on the Executive Committee of the club and other roles undertaken at the end of this season.

They will not be standing for re-election in any capacity at the club next season.

The time has now come for senior club members and junior parents to put up your hand to take over the running of the club and take it into a new era.

After taking over the management of the club with significant debt 3 years ago, Paul, Chris and Sue will leave the club with no debt, 4 senior teams and a strong junior program from which to build the next phase of the club's 45 year history.

It is a good time for you to take over the running of the club.

The club is therefore seeking nominations for positions on the Executive and General Committee of the Cricket Club.

Nominations close on 24 March 2012 (Presentation Day) and can be submitted before then by either mail, email, to your team coach/captain or handed in at Presentation Day.

Don't wait around for someone else to do it. Put in your nomination now.

Read the[ Presidents letter](Text Files/Committee Nominations.pdf) to the members here now.

An application form can be obtained by clicking the form button that follows.

The waiting and thinking is over. It is NOW time to put up your hand.
