The Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup

The Northern European Cup was introduced in 2006, merging the Formula Renault 2.0 Germany and Formula Renault 2.0 Netherlands Championships.

The Championship takes place over eight weekends across Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Austria and Belgium.

Each race weekend comprises two qualifying sessions and three races (subject to change) and the winner of the NEC will receive a test in a Formula Renault 3.5 car and a Formula Three car while the Vice-Champion will also receive a test in a Formula Renault 3.5 car.

2012 will be Fortec’s first year in the Northern European Cup; following the decision to cancel the CERTINA Formula Renault 2.0 UK Championship for 2012, the team opted to switch to the NEC for this season and is looking forward to the new challenge off the back of an exceptionally strong year for Fortec.
