Let the games begin
FRANKFURT MAIN FINANCE CUP 2014
On Sunday the official season opening event will be held around the Commerzbank Arena. As per usual the visitors can join plenty of activities from 10 a.m. onwards - for example the 1959 "Deutsche Meister" team will sign autographs, the current squad will be presented and there are plenty of food and drink stalls.
At 15.30 CET the friendly named Frankfurt Main Finance Cup 2014 against Inter will kick off in the stadium, it is already sold out (50,000 attendance). It will be another opportunity for manager Thomas Schaaf to try players, tactics and formations ahead of the first competitive match (DFB Cup 1st round away to Viktoria Berlin next Saturday).
3-2 WIN V US ALESSANDRIA
The friendly against US Alessandria on the final day of Bardonecchia Training Camp was somehow quirky. The Serie C club took a 1-0 lead before they scored two on goals helping SGE to go 2-1 up. The hosts came back to equalize but finally Eintracht youngster David Kinsombi scored the match winning goal.
Head Coach Schaaf used plenty of players but also rested some of the regulars i.e. Zambrano, Anderson, Aigner, Trapp and Inui. 400 came to see the match in sunny Italy, around 60 of them SGE supporters.
