Frecciarossa 1000

The Frecciarossa 1000 is born, the train built by AnsaldoBreda in partnership with Bombardier on behalf of the Italian State Railways that, in 2014, will run at a maximum speed of 400 km/h and it is designed to operate on the European network.

The new technological jewel, made in Italy, will completely revolutionize the rail transport.
It will be possible to go from Rome to Milan in just 2 hours and 20 minutes, thus improving the quality of the business of those who travel for work, but also the journey of those who travel for leisure, which can now have lunch in one of the two cities and conveniently return home for
dinner.

The aerodynamic design and the state of the art solutions for energy saving, beyond ensuring unmatched operational efficiency, guarantee to the Frecciarossa 1000 more than a record: in addition to being the fastest train ever mass-produced in Europe, it will also have the best acceleration, it will be the quietest, the one with less vibrations and less environmental impact.

The reduced aerodynamic resistance, the result of simulations and studies conducted in the wind tunnel, will limit the energy consumption and the noise.

The use of light alloys for vehicle carshells and for the furniture, beyond providing an optimal ratio mass/power, will allow at the end of the life of the vehicles the material recovery with reduced impact on the environment.

Not only speed, but also comfort, quality and safety.

The cars of the Frecciarossa 1000 are equipped with solutions that optimize travel quality by offering a level of comfort that, evaluated through mathematical models and test simulations, portends to be by far the highest for the latest generation of High Speed vehicles.

All innovative solutions that bring system benefits for the passenger, the operator of the service and the infrastructure manager. The setting of the interior is designed to integrate elegance, comfort and functionality. It will offer high thermal and acoustic insulation, LED lighting, climate control, restoration, suitable access for people with reduced mobility, on-board monitor, wifi and sockets for PC.

But that’s not all. The Frecciarossa 1000 will be the first European high-speed train fully interoperable, made multivoltage and compliant to the European standards (TSI), thanks to the innovative and sophisticated technical features that it has.

It will not know borders and will be able to travel on the high-speed networks in Europe - France, Germany, Spain, Austria, Switzerland, Holland and Belgium - overcoming the limitations in infrastructure, in particular the different power supplies and the different types of signaling. The Frecciarossa 1000 is then the Italian railway technology pride reclaiming - and enhancing - the centenary traditions of Ansaldo Trasporti and Breda Costruzioni Ferroviarie.

The most beautiful train in the world was created with a strong focus on environmental issues; the product is in fact made possible thanks to environmentally friendly processes and designed with particular attention to eco issues and to energy consumption.
