Early years

Born in Worthing, Harrison Reed came through the youth system at Saints before making the step up to the first-team in 2013.

Reed is tenacious and hard working midfielder who also boasts a great range of passing. At five-foot-six he may be small in stature, but his ability on the ball makes him a valuable addition to any side.

Reed stepped into the Under-21s squad during the latter half of the 2012/13 season, scoring a superb goal on his first Barclays U21 Premier League appearance.

First-team inclusion

The youngster's tireless performances in the Under-21 side saw him selected as part of a trio who made their first team bows against Barnsley in the Capital One Cup, with his first start following in the same competition when Saints travelled to Sunderland in Round Four.

Harrison then made his Barclays Premier League debut as a substitute in a 1-1 draw with Manchester City at St Mary's in December 2013. The midfielder made his first Premier League start in the 3-0 win against Everton soon afterwards, while he has also represented England’s Under-19s and Under-20s.

He went on to make 10 appearances for the first team in the 2014/15 campaign, before joining England Under-20s at the Toulon Tournament along with clubmate Jack Stephens as the Young Lions lost 2-1 to USA in the third-place play off.
